The Complete Irish Pub Cookbook
The Complete Irish Pub Cookbook: The best of traditional and contemporary Irish cooking | Love Food Editors
8 posts | 1 read | 5 to read
Pubs in Ireland are the cornerstone of their communities, relaxed places where locals and visitors can experience the best of traditional Irish hospitality. Many pubs have also become the place to go for a great meal, with a choice of both traditional and contemporary dishes. In recent years Irish cooking has been transformed, with skilful cooks making the most of wonderful fresh local produce to create delicious new dishes and giving a twist to many classics. This collection includes the best of both worlds with best-loved recipes such as Irish Stew and Split Pea and Ham Soup, and also newer recipes, like Scallop Chowder or Oatmeal and Raspberry Cream to set your taste buds tingling.

Snagged a book for my husband yesterday too. He does most of our cooking.

A happy St. Patrick‘s Day to all. We use the day as an excuse to eat-as if we need another one-so I made colcannon last night for the first time. It won‘t be the last 😊

Mollyanna I love colcannon! I make it every St. Patrick‘s day and then wonder why I don‘t make it throughout the year. 6y
JoScho I have no clue what colcannon is. 6y
Moray_Reads @JoScho "a traditional Irish dish of mashed potatoes with kale or cabbage" I had to Google it ? 6y

JoScho @Moray_Reads lol cool! Learned something new today. Thanks 😊 6y
LauraBrook I just saw a recipe for colcannon on Taste of Home and it‘ll be made sooner than later, that‘s for sure. Yum! 6y
Lynnsoprano @Mollyanna I had it for the first time last year at a St. Patrick‘s Day party. The biggest problem was not to face-plant in the pot😂 So good! 6y
Lynnsoprano @LauraBrook It‘s very easy. I used a Simply Recipes version. There are almost no leftovers, and it‘s just the two of us 😂 6y
Mollyanna 😂😂. I love it! @LauraBrook The Cooking Mom has a great recipe. 6y

Ever since I was a teen, I have had this arrangement with my aunt and uncle that I would babysit their boys in exchange for books. (Side note, I am pretty certain half of my fantasy books are from them.)

Now that I'm an adult, we've graduated to the cookbooks with booze. 🍾

Texreader 😂 and do you still babysit the boys? Sounds like they owe you some books too! 7y
BookmarkTavern @Texreader The oldest is only thirteen, so I've got a good long term thing set up. 😆 7y
