Winter Range: A Novel | Claire Davis
2 posts | 2 read
Winner of the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award for Best First Novel and the Mountains and Plains Booksellers Award for Best Novel In Winter Range, the intimate details of ranching and small-town life are woven into the suspenseful story of three people struggling to survive, to belong, and to love in the chillingly bleak landscape of eastern Montana. Ike Parsons is a small-town sheriff whose life is stable and content; his wife Pattiann is a rancher's daughter with a secret past. But when Ike tries to help a hard-luck cattleman named Chas Stubblefield, he triggers Chas's resentment and finds his home and his wife targeted by a plot for revenge.

An explanation of #winterclassicgamine for @Velvetfur!

The #winter aspect means that I should wear the above colours as they suit me best.

The #gamine bit means I should wear clothes that are: youthful, contemporary, structured & quirky with witty details & small scale features.

And, to make it #classic, I should add more grooming & tailoring; & ensure my clothes have structured & more formal details.

Hope this clarifies things!

jenniferw88 I should say that I can wear more of certain colours than others - for example, the reds, blues, purples and pinks all look great on me, but I can only wear a little bit of the paler colours & black should be on the bottom half of me! 😄 @Velvetfur 7y
