From the Black Library archive, the classic first novel in the bestselling Gotrek & Felix series in a lavish new format. After fleeing the authorities in the Imperial city of Altdorf, Felix Jaeger swears a drunken oath to dour dwarf Gotrek Gurnisson to record his death saga. In the cold light of day, Felix's worst fears are confirmed as he learns that Gotrek is a Trollslayer - a dwarf doomed to seek out a heroic death in battle to atone for an unknown personal disgrace. Their travels throw them into a string of extraordinary adventures as Felix tries to survive his companion's destiny.

Of the 215 books I've read in 2022 these are my Top 3.

It was hard choosing between Gotrek & Felix and Foundryside, but in the end I came back to the first two more often.
The Miracles of the Namiya General Store came in later in the year, but touched me so much, it went all the way to third place.

Honorable Mention: A Wizard‘s Guide to Defensive Baking ❤

Bookish Song Nr 39: Friends

Yes of course I needed a song to this favourite of mine. And while listening to Friends by Blake Shelton I couldn't help but imaging those two slashing through a horde of monsters while always having each others back. Because that they do.

Pickpick

How could I possibly NOT love those two? How could I possibly NOT love the whole book? King writes a perfect combination of Warhammer, humour and characters. And everything just fits. Gotrek and Felix have such a special relationship, and both are such great characters, they now are second in row in my Warhammer Top Ten (Number one will always be Gaunt).

Trigger warning: some arcs in this book will NOT be completely finished.

Thinking about trying a monthly #bookstagram #challenge in addition to the annual reading challenges (popsugar, read harder, etc). Any suggestions/advice? What experiences have you had with monthly challenges? Any favorites beyond the bookstagram challenges?

Lmstraubie They're fun! I think it helps you look at your reading habits and book collection in a new way. ☺ 7y
