Understanding Asexuality
Understanding Asexuality | Anthony F. Bogaert
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
In a world where people often feel compelled to advertise their sexual inclinations and preferences, many people identify as asexual, lacking sexual attraction to either men or women. This book introduces the idea of asexuality as a fourth category of sexual orientation and reveals the historical, biological, and social aspects of asexuality.

I‘m watching some Booktube this morning & focusing on discussion about #ownvoices. It occurs to me that I often wish for more ace rep in fiction. Once upon a time, I wanted to be a writer. Thirteenish years ago, I completed Nanowrimo; it was a rush!

I don‘t think I have the wherewithal to attempt a story at this time in my life, but I‘m reminded that if you want to see yourself represented in the world, sometimes it‘s up to you to speak up. 🤔

CocoReads Just keep plugging away. I don‘t have time right now to totally devote to writing either, but every so often I go through a spurt of plugging away at it. When the time is right, you‘ll get there. You‘re right—you may need to pave the way for that representation. 3y
WanderingBookaneer I think we are at a great time in terms of representation where some publishers are trying to make sure different voices have their say. I haven‘t read it yet, but I‘ve heard this character is ace: 3y
dariazeoli @WanderingBookaneer I really enjoyed Let‘s Talk About Love! Thanks for the heads up on City of Strife - will have to add it to the TBR. 3y
dariazeoli @CocoReads Thanks for the reminder - here‘s to productive plugging! 3y
