Q & A a Day
Q & A a Day: 5-year Journal | Potter Style
8 posts | 1 read | 4 to read
Do you ever stop to wonder how you got where you are? The Q&A a Day Journal shows you what was going through your head each dayfor five years of your life. Simply turn to today's date, answer the question at the top of the page, and when you finish the journal, start over. As you return to the daily questions again over the years, you'll notice how your answers change (or don't)! With questions that are sometimes provocative (On a scale of one to ten, how happy are you?), occasionally quirky (What can you smell right now?), and inevitably interesting (If you could travel anywhere tomorrow, where would you go?), this classically designed journalembellished with beautiful detailsis the perfect gift for anyone embarking on a new phase of life.

This is what was wrapped up in that silver wrapping paper!

I am so excited about this wonderful book! We can record our answers everyday for the next five years. It will be so much fun to see how our answers (and our lives) change each year!

Crazeedi I have this book, it is very special! 11mo
kstadt929 I started a book like this a couple years ago!!! I was so excited about it...then I went on vacation for a week and forgot about it, moved soon after and promptly lost it 🤦🏻‍♀️ 11mo
Butterflyamore @kstadt929 That‘s too bad. Hopefully my husband and I will be able to keep up with it. I‘d be very sad if we lost this special gift. As a side note, it looks like Amazon has this and several variations of it for sale, if you wanted to replace yours. 11mo
Butterflyamore @Crazeedi It really is! I am so excited about it. Guided journals and question books are things that I really enjoy filling out. 11mo

Though I am terrible at keeping to anything daily - writing in a diary, taking my vitamins, etc. - I got this 3-year journal for my husband and I to complete together. In response to a question, we write in our #opinions and then see how our answers change over time.

I believe I bought this 2-3 years ago, and we've done one or two days. If we pick up the pace a bit, we could be on track to finish by 2078. 👍

dsfisher 😂😂😂 So me 2y
KVanRead 😂👏Cool idea though. 2y

JenlovesJT47 Lol 😂 I have this as well. Did really well for about a month or two! 😅 2y
mabell @dsfisher @KVanRead @Bklover @LeahBergen @CrowCAH Posting about it reminded me to get back at it. Will try. 😂 2y
mabell @JenlovesJT47 That's a good run! 😂 2y
Dage What kind of questions are asked? 2y
mabell @Dage A few are philosophical, but most are related to personal feelings/experiences. Such as: What are you hopeful about? When was the last time you felt misunderstood? 2y
JaclynW I'm terrible at sticking to these kinds of things too. But I want one!! I bought the teen and kid versions for my children last year. They are pretty neat. I gave one as a gift to a friend who does hers religiously, she's loved it! 2y
mabell @JaclynW Cool! I'll have to keep an eye out for the children's version! My sister/nephew would love it! I hope we can get a routine going on ours - it would be so interesting to be able to look back at all the answers. I've put it on the counter, so we can't miss it. 😆 2y
JaclynW @mabell Good idea to keep it out in plain sight! I think it would be fun to look back too. Times change. 😊 2y

Question of the day!

What‘s a genre you‘ve never read before? (Or a genre you read once and will never read again?)

For me, it‘s westerns. I don‘t think I‘ve ever actually read one!

BibliophileMomma Westerns! 2y
Owlizabeth Westerns here too! 2y
AmyG The only Western I loved was 2y
mrozzz Not a romance fan, and until recently not a mystery fan, but the latter is growing on me! 2y

Hey Littens! It's Q&A time!

Since I just signed up for #litsypenpals , I'm wondering where you get your stationery. I've been browsing around online, and I'm finding that a lot of the cool stationery is through the roof expensive. Does anyone know of any online stores with an eclectic collection and reasonable prices?

JoeStalksBeck You could make your own if you have a printer 😁 3y
slategreyskies @JoeStalksBeck I don't know how I've never thought of that! I make my own planner inserts and stickers. I can't believe that never occurred to me! I'm having a lightbulb moment over here. LOL thanks!! 3y
GirlMeetsBook You can find pretty cheap stuff at Marshalls/TJ Maxx, but not washi tape... 3y

AmandaL I buy this magazine called Flow. They have a Paper Lovers issue once a year that's about $25 at Barnes and Noble. It has hundreds of different specialty papers inside, so that's how I justify the expense. 3y
JoeStalksBeck Lol! Yw❤️ also try Wish.com . 3y
minkyb Thanks for the tip about Flow @AmandaL TJ Max is fun because you never know what you might find @GirlMeetsBook Maybe try etsy??? 3y
tournevis @AmandaL Flow magazine is wonderful for stationary, though their's is not fountain pen friendly. If you live near a big city, there is a chance you'll have access to a proper brick and mortar stationary store like Papyrus, which are very coming in the US. Goggle for a stationary store near you, it xould very well pan out. 3y
AmandaL Thanks @tournevis I'll do that! 3y
teebe Michael's craft stores. They sell paper, stamps, cards, stickers, etc. Sometimes for $1.50 each. But they also always have 40% off coupons and other sales. I bought a big box of washi tape once for $15. 3y
slategreyskies @teebe great idea! Thanks! :) 3y
slategreyskies @AmandaL I think that's the issue I almost picked up at Barnes and Noble maybe four or five months ago. Now that I know it's worth it, I will definitely snag myself a copy next time I see it and have some extra cash. Thanks! 🤗 3y
slategreyskies @GirlMeetsBook I've looked at Marshalls, but I'd completely forgotten about TJ Maxx! We don't have one in my town, nor in the next town over, but my mom has one in her town. I may have to swing by next time I visit her. Thanks for the tip! 🤗 3y

I'm on holiday at my parent's house in the US and I found this beauty in Barnes & Noble. I'm not good at writing daily in journals but this is great because it has prompts.

PurpleyPumpkin I have this one waiting for me to start as I had already started another similar journal when I found this one. My 5 years of daily journaling has been a bit hit & miss. But it's fun looking at a date & reading my thoughts over the past years. Mine journal doesn't have daily prompts so I think I'll find this Q&A one interesting! 3y
Foxyfictionista @PurpleyPumpkin I've had it for a week and so far I've been doing well. Like you, I don't think I would be able to keep at it if there weren't prompts. I'm looking forward to next year when I can read all of this stuff. We'll have to catch up next year and see where we both are with it. 😃 3y
PurpleyPumpkin Sounds like a plan! Good luck with it. 👍🏽😉 3y

Suet624 I love the prompt idea. I think I'll have to go find this journal. 3y
Foxyfictionista @Suet624 I highly recommend it! 3y
Amandajoy I had this & somehow managed to keep up with it the full five years! I started a new one this year. I think it's fun. 3y
Foxyfictionista @Amandajoy That's so good to know! I have such great aspirations when it comes to journals but I usually end up failing. Hopefully, I'll be better with this one. 3y
Amandajoy I'm the same way. Usually I don't make it one day with a journal, but this was easy. I think it was the question prompts. 3y
Foxyfictionista @Amandajoy I love the prompts! 3y
auroralector In the US huh? Sorry you can't escape the crazy weather. 3y
Foxyfictionista @auroralector We didn't have any crazy weather while we were there. It was really hot but I'm ok with that. ☺️ 3y

#riotgrams day 4 - notebooks / journals

Not nearly as good at keeping up with this journal as I should be. Many of my entries are done in batches, to the best of my memory of a given day.

This is one of my favorite questions from my question a day calendar. I love to daydream. 💙

RealBooks4ever I daydream about being able to retire one day! It probably won't happen. 😕 3y
Mariposa_Bookworm I daydream about London. 🇬🇧❤🇬🇧 3y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk Easy. Middle-earth. 3y
