Red Alert | Peter George, Peter Bryant

"Red Alert is a 1958 novel by Peter George about nuclear war. The book was the basis for Stanley Kubrick's film, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Kubrick's film differs significantly from the novel in that it is a comedy. Originally published in the UK as Two Hours to Doom - with George using the pseudonym 'Peter Bryant' - the novel deals with the apocalyptic threat of nuclear war and the almost absurd ease with which it can be triggered."--Wikipedia.

1. Dr. Strangelove or The Producers (1967). The blue blanket scene kills me every time!

2. I finally found 3+ hours to watch Scorsese's The Irishman on Netflix

3. I just try to get through the day without looking at the news too much, because I don't know what can be done about where we are as a society. Ugh, I think I'm going to go watch The Producers now...

From “Dr. Strangelove”

“Deterrence is the art of producing in the mind of the enemy the fear to attack. And so, because of the automated and irrevocable decision-making process which rules out human meddling, the Doomsday Machine is terrifying. It's simple to understand. And completely credible and convincing.”
