There was a real plot we shall have to judge for ourselves as the tense story unfolds; but it is not to be wondered at that Englishmen felt a shock of horror and of relief from catastrophe on November 5, 1605, or that we still celebrate the deliverance. Men, who were themselves good, in the sense that they were filled with religious zeal, had certainly planned one of the most evil deeds in history. They had planned murder on a mass scale; murder of King and Lords. The aim of this book is to take a familiar event in history and examine the cause and effect so that it no longer stands isolated from its background.

Happy Guy Fawkes day. Fireworks above Edinburgh castle since I didn't go to a display last night #fireworks #pennyforaguy

Moray_Reads I was wondering how I missed this when I can usually see the fireworks from my window, and then I realised these were during the Fringe 😂 6y

Moray_Reads @kellock the cattle itself is just hidden by the buildings opposite but I can see most of the fireworks. It's nice, I get to watch them all cozy at home without the crowds or the sky high prices! 6y
kellock I love coming to the fringe @Moray_Reads but dislike the crowds. Think I'd been in the assembly rooms watching Mark Watson and caught the end if the tattoo. 6y

We had a lovely Bonfire night tonight spent at Aled's sister's. Willow's first bonfire night and our first as a family. 😊 Surprisingly, Willow wasn't even phased by the fireworks! I think she enjoyed it. She was certainly happy and chattering away. Here's a pic of her with Daddy.
