The first book I finished in 2021 is a children‘s illustrated book. It‘s a lovely poem in a mother‘s voice, conjuring animal spirits from the Arctic who bestow different gifts to her Sweetest Kulu. The illustrations are gorgeous. If I ever need to find a present for a small child, this book will definitely be in the running, especially since it‘s available in French or English (as well as Inuktitut).

I absolutely adore this book for our little ones. Beautiful writing and lovely illustrations make this a wonderful picture book. You learn a little bit about Inuit culture and the Arctic while learning to respect the land and animals. I would 100% recommend this book over and over again.

LOVE this. Yet another Inhabit Media picture book. Perfect bedtime picture book for all ages. Kalluk brings forth a tender story about a mother's new baby blended with Inuit culture and Arctic nature. The illustrations are breathtaking. Highly recommended.

Sweetest Kulu really is the sweetest. Gorgeous illustrations, and a gentle, lovely bedtime story. The rhythm of the text did take some getting used to, though, and it felt inconsistent. Still a warm, enjoyable picture book.

Another of the cutest. Many of these, with a good photo capture, can make the coolest ideas for an iOS lock-screen background. 🐇

#diversepicturebooks I got that chance today to read through Sweetest Kulu, in all its adorably epic beauty. This treasure really shouldn't be missed, for the all-ages love of picture books. The library sure has a dedicated aboriginal shelf, with so much more I'm excited to continually read and share, on Saturdays. #marchintoreading

I'm already feeling the love for Sweetest Kulu, and sure to ask around on my next library visit for reading. - Not My Girl sounds like a sorrowed hard story, on the dark 'not to be forgotten' side of Canada's history of residential schools 😥 taking children from their families, and into religious conversion.

Born in the Arctic Summer, Kulu is greeted and gifted virtues by the animals as his mother praises her beautiful baby.
Great read for toddler and preschool story time.
