Sequel to When I Was Eight, I think this one is even better because it addresses something that many books about the residential schools don‘t - the repercussions when a child returns home. It is profound to see how she begins to lose parts of her culture, her heritage, her family, and herself. It is compelling and heartbreaking and hopeful.

Direct sequel to When I Was Eight, and picture book adaptation of A Stranger at Home. Beautiful illustrations and a touching story. All four books are well worth the read.
