4 posts | 4 read | 2 to read
The Three Investigators discover a sinister clock with an alarm that sounds like the scream of a woman in mortal terror. Who could have made such a clock -- and why? Jupiter, Pete, and Bob immediately embark on a search to discover the origins of the mysterious clock. When they come across a run-down house in Hollywood, they find an entire room full of dreadful clocks -- with time running out!

Pickpick

(1965) Third in the Three Investigators Series, which is without exaggeration the greatest juvenile mystery series of all time, past present and future. So of course it's a pick.

kwmg40 This was certainly my favourite mystery series when I was young. I can't disagree with your statement! 2y
swynn @kwmg40 Yay for Three Investigators love! 2y

#BookCoverChallenge
Day 206.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.

Day 3 of #20Series20Days: The Three Investigators

The very first book I checked out from the library's "Juvenile" collection (as opposed to the "Children's" collection) was "The Three Investigators and the Mystery of the Whispering Mummy" and man I was hooked. The lead, Jupiter Jones, was a smart kid who didn't conform socially but who loved to read and didn't care that others found him odd: my first literary role model.

@Andrew65

Andrew65 Another great classic. 4y
Ruthiella Those look like fun! Reminiscent of Hardy Boys books I read as a kid.😀 4y
swynn @Ruthiella Yeah, certainly aimed at the same market. I read my share of Hardy Boys too, though that team never appealed to me the way Jupiter Jones's did. 4y
Bigcountry15 I loved me some Three Investigators back in the day! 4y

I‘d read Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, Cherry Ames and Tricia Belden when I was a kid but my favourite juvenile mystery series by far was the Three Investigators. I loved following the adventures of Jupiter, Pete and Bob!

kwmg40 @TK-421 I was around that age too when I discovered the Three Investigators! 6y
