Mehso-so

Mostly I didn't care for this book; the humor directed towards librarians and fat women (both of which I am) was just too mean. Some of the sex scenes felt rapey to me. These women are grad students but don't take their schooling seriously, which isn't my experience. The book, though, is almost completely redeemed by this line, "Son, when are you going to break the factory seal on your brain?"? Also, the narrator was good.

This book was a hoot, but I'm posting to ask for bookstore recommendations in the San Antonio/Austin area. I'm staying in New Braunfels next month when I go visit friends and my old home town next month. I haven't lived there in almost 30 years and need to know what stores to seek out.

BeckyLeJ Twig in San Antonio and Book People in Austin 😜 8y
Texreader Welcome to our neck of the woods! Austin (my former hometown) has many more independent bookstores. San Antonio (my hometown since 2001) has fewer but we make a circuit of the half-price bookstores and I can do some serious damage. New Braunfels had a Hastings but I guess it must be closed by now. 😓 8y
AWahle @BeckyLeJ @Texreader Thank you! I grew up in Leon Valley and used to do Half Price & the Brandeis book sales with my dad, but like I said, it's been 30 years. I'm looking forward to this trip. 8y
Texreader @AWahle what fun for you to come back for a visit. Don't be surprised at how much everything has changed especially the growth between SA and Austin. There have been some major road improvements in the Leon Valley area which has made driving in that area so nice! 8y
