Apparently I like science fiction. This was a fun galactic adventure with great characters and good action. I think it's probably geared to middle grade readers but I liked it a lot. Audiobook well done (audiobook review to appear in AudioFile magazine).

bartsbooks I've yet to read it, but the physical book is illustrated by Dave McKean! 7y
BethFishReads @bartsbooks I saw. I'm going to have to reread in print 7y

Just started this adventure / science fiction story in audio. The galaxy is at war and a young boy named Lucky is on the run after his mother says they have to leave their home with only what they can carry. He must figure out who he is, who his friends are, and what his role in the greater universe is. An hour in, and I'm rooting for Lucky!

Science Fiction is where my heart lies. It's a genre which simply works best in books.

Lucky is a boy on the run, trying to find answers but plagued with dreams. His adventure turns epic very quickly.

Phoenix has all the excitement of old style adventure stories - the type which led eventually to Star Wars - but it has so much more.

If this brings on a new wave of science fiction then I welcome it.
