This story has been too long repressed. Finally I‘ve read this. ❤️💔

Tamra I want to know more! 5y
Megara @Tamra I recommend this book! To hear the story from the Powhatan Nation‘s side instead of colonist propaganda is invaluable! It‘s an easy read too. I breezed through it in one day during my research at work today. 5y
Tamra @Megara I stacked. 😊 TY! 5y

Emilymdxn This sounds like a great book! Is the writer Native American? 5y
Megara @Emilymdxn “Dr. Linwood ‘Little Bear‘ Custalow and Angela L. Daniel ‘Silver Star‘ who claim they are revealing for the first time the oral history of the Mattaponi tribe and its contents regarding the story of Pocahontas and John Smith. The authors claim the book is a collection of four hundred years of Mattaponi oral tradition passed down through the tribe‘s quiakros (priests who dedicated their lives to learning).” 5y
Megara @Emilymdxn It seemed to be a collaborative effort to preserve the oral tradition. 5y

“We can only learn from the real history. Many don‘t see the real history! The reason we have not learned from history is because we have not embraced the truth of what has happened.”
