A very British coming of age story, I did enjoy this book but felt that it wouldn't resonate with modern readers, it was very of it's time.

Laura317 Did you not have flour babies in school? As part of the curriculum LONG ago, kids all had to carry a flour baby around - like a real baby. I think it was meant to scare us away from teen pregnancy, but all it did was make huge messes in the hallway when someone dropped their flour baby while juggling books. 😂 8y
BookishFeminist @Laura317 We had egg babies! I know what flour babies are but this cover though and having a whole book about them is utterly ridiculous that I nearly died laughing when I saw this 😂😂 8y
