A delightful look into Marilla's past and her journey before meeting her beloved Anne. I didn't know I needed this story until I read it, but what a beautiful imagining of such a beloved character.

It took a minute (I persisted because my sister Sara loves it) but I'm finally getting into Don Quixote.

Utterly heartbreaking. Utterly amazing. And an unexpected, but perfect, ending.

Been waiting on this one a while. I already have tissues handy, because I'm sure I'll need them.

If Maxine, the cranky Hallmark lady, had no compunction about knocking off the people who irritate her, this would be her story.

A deliciously creepy page turner. As usual Katherine Arden weaves a spellbinding tale that grabs you and doesn't let go until you've reached the end.

Really digging Rebecca Roanhorse's unique spin on urban/post apocalyptic fantasy, and the peek at Native culture.

Obama and Biden reuniting to solve the murder of Biden's favorite Amtrak conductor a la Jessica Fletcher was too ridiculous to pass up.

Absolutely worth the hype. A powerful story, compellingly told, with an important message that is very applicable to the real world. The characters and their stories grabbed me from the first page, and didn't let go until the end. Looking forward to the next chapter in this saga.

"If you have never spent whole afternoons with burning ears and rumpled hair, forgetting the world around you over a book ... If you have never read secretly under the bedclothes with a flashlight, because your father or mother or some other well-meaning person has switched off the lamp on the plausible ground that it was time to sleep ... If you have never wept bitter tears because a wonderful story has come to an end."

Haven't we all?

A beautifully-told story of love, loss, magic, and how everything we do has consequences.

Finally, a great YA novel with two strong female leads more focused on their friendship than any romantic entanglements. An interesting new world; I hope for more.

Woman in Cabin Ten | Ruth Ware

Pickpick

Great read if you like a good thriller with an unexpected twist. Ware does a good job of making the reader feel as on edge as her heroine. If mysteries are your thing, you definitely want to know what happened to the "Woman in Cabin 10".

"You know, like you get sometimes with those thriller novels and you just disappear for an hour and I don't know where you were until you come out and complain your legs went to sleep on the toilet?" (hangs head, raises hand) Sometimes you just get caught up in the story ...
