Sharp Objects: A Novel | Gillian Flynn
Pickpick

I also finished this one up over the weekend. I really enjoyed it and have been pleasantly surprised with my thriller picks lately. So far they haven't let me down!

wrenaymuhree Flynn's books are all so good...disturbing, but good. I'm dying for her to write another! 😩 7y
shellielingo I know! I devoured all of them. I think you'd really like the Memory Box! 7y

I really enjoyed this one! It was suspenseful until the very end and certainly fulfilled my need to read a psychological thriller.

This one is excellent so far. I've found it a tiny bit predictable, but I'm hoping there will soon be a plot twist I didn't see coming!

This one had serious promise, but it just didn't do it for me. Jones writes very well but tries way too hard to incorporate about a billion elements, and they really don't come together well in the end. There is simply too much going on--an abduction mystery; a killer ghost mystery; supernatural weirdness; a lady who can talk to ghosts, understand any language, and forgets her identity; a romance. And then an archangel shows up. For real.

Lone Wolf: A Novel | Jodi Picoult
Pickpick

I loved this Jodi Piccoult novel (still haven't come across one I didn't like)! It was certainly a page turner, and I found myself thinking about the plot constantly during my non-reading moments. Definitely recommend this one!

wrenaymuhree This was a good one! Not my favorite, but a good read nonetheless. 7y

I really enjoyed this read! The macabre nature fit right into my preferences for good literature, and I enjoyed devouring another Shirley Jackson work.

wrenaymuhree I really need to read this...it keeps cropping up online... 7y

It's good this was an audio book and I was listening to it to pass the time as I drove to/from work. Otherwise, I wouldn't have finished it, even though it was super short. It kept my attention at times, but the characters weren't relatable or developed enough to care what happens to any of them. And the plot twist at the end was far from stellar. Woof.

Eh. This one was okay. I managed to finish it, but it wasn't a very compelling novel. It had some good ingredients--strong female character, brooding Irish man, impossible circumstances, allusion to mythological death horses--but it just didn't do it for me.

wrenaymuhree Good to know. I will not be reading... 7y
