I'm a huge reader from childhood, and even though I have recently turned to ebooks, print books are still my first love.

This book has been the best horticultural piece of literature, that I have read so far this year. I would very much love to buy a copy for myself, once I can source out somewhere in my country to buy it. I think that it would be a truly valued addition to my personal library, for years to come.

Innocent Blood | James Rollins

This is the second book in the series 'The Order of the Sanguines', where the priests, and their allies, must fight the forces of darkness. This time, a man claiming to be Jesus' betrayer, Judas Iscariot, is determined to open the gates of Hell, using the First Angel.
I found the history, both religious, and past, to be very fascinating, and the fantasy well written. Once again, James Rollins at his best.

This is a classic James Herbert ghost story, and it was so nice to pick up one of his books again. Set in an old house, believed to be haunted, David Ash, a psychic investigator, sets out to prove that the noises heard are merely the sounds of an old building. Creepy, and unsettling, this story proves to be quite unique, and definitely took me out of my comfort zone.

This delightful story is when the author heads to New York, and fosters a sick cat named Bono, while the shelter he has come from, is looking for a home for him. I found this book so intriguing, and enjoyed watching the bond between Bono, and Helen grow. It was very heartwarming, and beautiful.

This was a beautifully written story, of a young married woman, Izzy, who finds an old airforce greatcoat, in a cupboard, in the rooms where she lives, and uses it as a blanket, to keep herself warm. After putting it on, she finds herself visited by the ghost of an airforce officer. Izzy herself, is very curious, and I loved her for that. Her husband is a doctor, and very busy, so she loses herself in the life of the officer, Alec. Enchanting!

In this second book, Sophie loses her husband to consumption, and returns to Waverley Place after his death.
Once more both cousins, become embroiled in the affairs of one or more of their patient's lives.
Sara Donati has the ability to create such wonderful characters in her books, and I really enjoy immersing myself, in their respective worlds.

Beautifully written story about a young woman who loses one of her good friends, when a car hits a restaurant window, near where she and her friends are sitting. A very sensitive story of how Rachel reacts, and how she copes with the aftermath.
It was an interesting read, and the second book that I have read of Dani Atkins. She is truly a brilliant writer.

This was quite an interesting read, despite going from one place in time, to another, as the main character Sam, suffers from migraine headaches, and can also predict a future as a child, but then as an adult, is abandoned by her mother. Set in a coastal town named Clapstone, in Australia, it depicts the struggles of the remaining townspeople's ability to cope, when they are abandoned by the government. They look to Sam with hope. Mediocre.

And the legacy of Jenny Taggart continues in the ninth book of the Australians series. This time her descendants, living in 1860's Australia, look toward New Zealand, to colonize next. This book was full of the adventures, danger, history, and well loved excitement of the previous eight books. The old characters were still as endearing as ever.

This was such a heartwarming read, brought alive by Jason, as his father recalls his experiences, when he was interred in Auschwitz concentration camp, during World War 2. As they travel to the camp together, to revisit the past, Jason brings the book to life, with poems, maps, and moments, that particularly stand out for his father. I enjoyed reading of the deep relationship that both he, and his father shared together. ARC from NetGalley.

Hello, Hello, as Matthew's book suggests! I'm back after a long time, I know. A bit older, and maybe a bit more wiser.
It has been a bittersweet few years, but I am hoping that 2022 is going to be better, for everyone.
My husband died in 2020, and I moved to the big city, to be closer to my family, but sad to say, I miss my country life. So, I am going to find another rural spot. Above is a photo of Millie, who is now 3. Hasn't she grown?

Bklover I‘m so sorry for your loss- glad to see you back on Litsy! 2y

I really enjoyed this light, cozy mystery, about Amanda Cadabra, a new amateur detective, complete with thrills, chills, and ghosties too. And she is a witch. With a police inspector questioning her every move, she has been given a furniture restoration job, at the local 'haunted' house, Sunken Madley.
Filled with laugh out loud moments, this first Amanda Cadabra book, is a must read, for would be detectives, and lovers of a good mystery.

The Other Side of an Adoption (English)
This was a very eye opening story, of a young single woman Maria, who wanted a child. But having no partner, decided to adopt a Russian orphan. After waiting a while, she eventually gets to meet her new daughter Alba, and eventually takes her home. But after a very good start, things start to change, as Alba's behaviour skyrockets into something terrifying, and Maria is left, to wonder why.

I gave this book 5 stars, because I think that it definitely deserved it. It was gifted to me by the author himself, and it proved to be one of the most emotionally charged books, that I have ever read.
The story is of a Dad, a Mom, and their five year old twins-Terry and Anna, who are living an ordinary life, are happy, and are just being your average family. Then Anna disappears.
Tragically, their lives start falling apart, piece by piece.
