August Pullman is a 10 year old boy who has had to undergo 27 surgeries. These surgeries have caused many scars and facial abnormalities causing him to be very self conscious. Due to his insecurities, he has been homeschooled his entire life. He is about to enter 5th grade when his parents make the recommendation that he attends school for his first time. Although he doesn‘t like the idea, he decides to give it a try.

owen.lauzon The change is massive for him and it‘s starts rough but August doesn‘t back down. With the help of his family and friends he is able to navigate his way through the challenges that grade 5 holds. I would recommend this book to anyone who has seen the movie or is looking for a great story. I would rate this book 5/5 stars, I personally thought this book was better then the movie and 2y
owen.lauzon that is a very rare occurrence for me. The book is split into four different parts, each part is written in first person but from a different characters perspective. Each chapter uses the same pronouns but the part‘s title tells you which characters perspective is being displayed. 2y
MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Owen! I would agree, the book is better than the movie in this case! 6/6 2y

This book is about a 15 year old boy named Will. He is at a hard time in his life because his 19 year old brother was just murdered. The rule inside Will‘s hood is that you always get revenge on the person who murdered your family member however, revenge is the reason his brother and father are both dead. On his way to seek revenge he enters an elevator, inside of this elevator many different relatives of Will‘s come to him

owen.lauzon with advice that could change the course of violence in his hood forever. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense and enjoys reading verse. A theme inside of this book is revenge. This theme is shown throughout the entire book as Will decides if revenge is the best way avenge his brother‘s death. (edited) 2y
