Pickpick

I would like to usher in "fungal fiction" as an accepted subgenre, with this being one of the core titles.
This book was so good and weird and absolutely batshit - I loved it! The ending felt a little rushed but it definitely didn't diminish my enjoyment at all!

Pickpick

I know everyone on the planet, both alive and dead, has already talked about this book. But honestly, it deserves it. So if you are, like me, someone who tends to avoid all those hyped up books out of spite, don't do that with this one.
If you think you can handle the content warnings, this one really is worth your time.

Man, this book is dropping quotes left and right.

Super excited about all the books I've gotten recently. Particularly I, Tituba which I've been wanting to read for ages. I've been trying to find it secondhand but haven't had any luck. I finally had to spring for a copy at BN.
The Occult I Ching also looks particularly interesting and unlike anything I've come across before.
I think I'm going to dive into I, Tituba first but I'll definitely be perusing The Occult I Ching when I can.

Ghostlove | Dennis Mahoney

Mehso-so

I have mixed feelings about Ghostlove. I loved the first few chapters and enjoyed the first half of the book more than the second. I really liked how the supernatural elements were written - it gave me a sort of Night Vale vibe.
But I realized I was reading more to find out what quirky hauntings the author would come up with next and not because I cared about the characters. Which was enough for me to finish the book but not enough to love it.
