Finally picked up The Mothers by Brit Bennett. Loving the collective narration. My #24in48 is going well.

Another hit by Kleypas. Loved reading more about my favorite Wallflower Evie and her son's shenanigans. My first day of #24in48 is going swimmingly. I'm at 10:45 hours read.

Just finished the third book of my #24in48. The flowing essay style was not my favorite form, but I appreciate what Lerner is getting at.

Ready for my first time participating in #24in48. I've got lots of good picks and a will of steel. Plus I've been napping all day in preparation. 💁🏻📚

Sex Object: A Memoir | Jessica Valenti

This book was a bit of a doozy. Valenti talks very openly about her relationships, mistakes, and hardships. Her honest dialogue about what it means to be a woman in the world is one that any woman can relate to.

This slice of (a crazy) life drama by Nancy Pearl explores family, empathy, friendship, coming of age, and overcoming the past. George & Lizzie is a slow-paced novel that focuses on rich detail setting and complicated characters. Fans of domestic fiction will enjoy this messy, charming, and edgy story of a woman coming to terms with her life choices.

I can't believe I've never picked this up before now. This book was a fantastic read and I will be reading everything ever by Maria Semple.

Hearing Rilla talk tonight was such a treat. Her experiences growing up in Oklahoma were so similar to mine. It's crazy how little we learned about racial tensions in Tulsa as students. I'm really excited to pick up this book and hear more from her.

Want to be sad? Recommend you pair this with All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and a dinner with your family - the ones who complain about BLM and welfare. 🙅

Leah ☹️ I'm sorry you had the sads, boo! 7y

Think of it this way: while most books on depression try to help you win the war, this one is merely a cigarette in the trenches.
