“What if the Negro people would be wooed from a strife for righteousness, from a love of knowing, to regard dollars as the be-all and end-all of life?”

Thought provoking and challenging book that will expand your understanding of the people behind social movements. Much more about people and the struggles of life than BLM. Great job by Patrisse Khan-Cullors!

Amazing and imaginative time traveling narrative which expertly fused modern day with antebellum south. The author masterfully weaves in current themes like cultural infighting and educational oppression, to name a few, along with a vivid slave narrative to create “Kindred”: a book that is sure to keep the reader glued to each page.

“Don‘t matter what ought to be. Matters what is.”

In the modern day backdrop, isn‘t this a crucial point to consider? Apply it to the subjects of America‘s gun violence problem, racism, discrimination against women, etc. Powerful!

Absolute gem. Creative fusion of traditions and futuristic sci-fi. Quick read as it is under 100 pages.
