I started reading the book but never got a chance to finish it.
Martin Arrowsmith, the protagonist of the novel, was born and brought up in the small midwestern town of Elk Mills, where he developed an interest in science and spent his free hours reading through Gray's Anatomy and other books in the town's doctor's office, Doc Vickerson.

The book ends with the proposal of Martin and Terry to create a laboratory in Terry's woodland home so they can be able to do the important research they enjoy and need without the commercial burden exerted by department heads and institute presidents.

I started reading the book but never got a chance to finish it.
Lambert Strether arrives in Chester, England, an American from Woollett, Massachusetts. Strether initially assumes that Sarah is as charmed by the Parisian life of Chad as it was by Strether. But then, Sarah encounters Strether face to face, reiterating the negative views of the situation of Mrs. Newsome.

I started reading the book but never got a chance to finish it.
Ben reads a newspaper in a basement with a refrigerator and furniture, while Gus fixes his shoelaces. Near the end of the story, all of a sudden at the door, Ben scores his pistol and Gus stumbles in, vulnerably stripped of some of his clothes and gun. He looks up at Ben, and through a long silence, they smile at each other.

Agamemnon starts with a Watchman on obligation on the roof of the palace at Argos, ready for a sign announcing the fall of Troy to the Greek armies. They surmount the regime, and the Chorus broadcasts that Clytemnestra's son Orestes will return from exile to avenge his father.

August Wilson was born poor into a family of seven in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since the town had intense racism, he left school at age sixteen, later educating himself independently at the city library. Wilson comes back and asks Wining Boy if he is ready to catch the train back south. Wilson says goodbye to his sister, and Berniece gives thanks.

Thomas Sutpen's daughter with a slave woman and now a withered old woman herself, sets fire to the manor house, killing herself and Henry, and bringing the Sutpen dynasty to a fiery end.

The Socs, short for Socials, gang up on Ponyboy and threaten to slit his throat. A group of greasers comes and chases the bullies away, saving Ponyboy.
