Couldn‘t believe our library had this audiobook available after the recent National Book Award win. It‘s definitely worthy, and I recommend listening to the author perform her own words if you can.

“Scuff a hoof,” the unicorn equivalent of “break a leg.” Obviously.

Started and finished within a day. Well done ”contemporary” YA. Set in 2002, a year after 9/11. The main character is a 16-year-old Muslim girl, constantly met with awful, racist comments. As a result, she's put up walls and doesn't quite know what to do when someone actually wants to get to know her. The author herself is Muslim so this felt very truthful/genuine.
