So, I thought I'd revive my litsy account as a few more of my Bookstagram buddies have made it over to litsy now! This is my current read

thebooksatchel Love what you are wearing in this😊 7y
BookishMarginalia Yes, @thebooksatchel -- the color coordination is fab! 7y

Finding this overwhelmingly pretentious and annoying. Considering jettisoning - life's too short for books I don't enjoy reading!! Would be keen to hear others' thoughts though

Lylah Haven't read it but I agree that if you're not enjoying it, don't continue with it! There are so many lovely books out there to be read instead. 8y
paige84 The only book I've ever flat out given up on was Atlas Shrugged. It was also super pretentious 😂 8y
emilyesears I read the whole thing, but didn't like it that much. I say DNF it if you want. 8y

I'm about halfway through this and am feeling fairly like warm about it. So far, I've always enjoyed Greene's books but have never been gripped by them...

If only this could be on the PE curriculum. Fascinating, brilliantly-written and inspiring read. Highly recommend!

Also reading this and loving it. Highly recommend what can be best described as feminism in a biology class delivered by a comedian. What's not to like?

Currently reading this via audiobook. It's pretty grisly! Anyone else read it?

Still going with this. It's taking me a long time to get through it and I'm hoping to get hooked soon.

shawnmooney Like most meaty 19th-century novels, this one does take a while to get into. I hope you do! Can you do me a favor? If you come across the chapter epigraph about causing a big bell to resound, can you put a photo of that quote on Litsy & link my name? I think of it often & hope to find it again! 8y
shawnmooney Of course, this is just an "if-you-keep-reading-and-happen-to-notice-it" type of favor! Thanks!!! 8y
rachelm I'm about 300 pages and then not technically hooked yet… I've been reading it before bed every night 8y
rachelm @shawnmooney I tagged you in one only posts. I ran across the passage you were looking for. 8y

Chelsey I have unbridled animosity for this book, but that shouldn't stop anyone else from reading it 😏 Also, is that a bookish cover for a phone/tablet? That's very cool 8y
