A story filled with challenges, injustice, prejudices and arrogance but these are wrapped by strength from God, perseverance, a sound mind and above all love. An exceptional story which has a lesson or two for everyone. Superb testimony.

Crazeedi I've heard this book is inspiring, and really powerful 3mo

Boring text book style of writing. TBH, I didn't finish it. Read about 10% and ditched it.

I decided to read this after reading Home Going by Yaa Gaasi as I wanted to learn from the perspective of the colonisers themself. But I didn't learn anything from this book. It was boring, the language was overly done and pointless and overall it was a drag read.

Taking longer than expected to finish this but I am not complaining because each page offers so much to digest.

Any of you have a name for that lasting feeling of appreciation towards a literary masterpiece and the development of pure admiration towards an author? Barbara Kingsolver did this to me and if she was a guy, I would stalk him (her).

jewright It definitely sticks with you. 5mo

I couldn't cry my heart out in the finishing parts of this book all because I was in a public library. This is one of those books apart from the Bible where the words zapped me up. #stephjotsdown #mitchalbom #favread

Schnoebs This is one of my favorite books of all time! Are you going to read the sequel? 5mo
Stephjotsdown @Schnoebs yes definitely. I got all of Mitch Albom's books on my Kindle already. How about you? Have you read the others? 5mo
Schnoebs I finished the sequel a month or two ago. I‘ve also read Tuesdays with Morrie. The only other one I currently have is the magic strings of Frankie presto. Hopefully I‘ll be able to get to it this summer! 5mo
