I know a lot of people don‘t like this because of the ‘needless‘ disgusting scenes, and the detestable characters - but that‘s why I loved it 🤷‍♂️.
No but seriously, whilst I genuinely had no issue with the depravity and all the various awful scenes, I felt this was an interesting look at religion, capitalism, fiefdom, family and the futility of life. If you can stomach the worst of it, you‘ll really love the best!

A beautifully told story which made me cry more than once.

Everybody should read this book at some point in their life. Whilst it is not the best book to read - the prose is a little all over the place and the structure isn‘t perfect - the messages it conveys and the impact of its story will move readers for generations to come.

I read this book in one day, partly because it was relatively short and fast paced, but partly because I couldn‘t put it down. An absolutely spellbinding story, with beautiful writing
