Worth the hype! It‘s an easy read, I couldn‘t put it down and finished it in less than a day!
Breakfast-club-esque murder mystery, with a whole lot of drama and twists. I hope the sequels live up to the first book.

This was without a doubt a blast-from-the-past read. I remember being in love with this book in high school, and having completely forgotten the storyline I decided to give it another shot! It didn‘t disappoint.

“How will I ever get out of this labyrinth!" to a margin note written in her loop-heavy cursive: Straight & Fast.”

Definitely a new favorite of mine. I had taken a break from reading after a crazy couple of months (I‘m sure many can relate). But wow, what a way to get back into it! 100% recommend.

“Even if it‘s a dumb story, telling it changes other people just the slightest little bit, just as living the story changes me. An infinitesimal change. And that infinitesimal change ripples outward - ever smaller but everlasting. I will get forgotten, but the stories will last. And so we all matter - maybe less than a lot, but always more than none.”

This quote honestly makes this book all worth it.

After reading Jandy Nelson‘s “I‘ll give you the sun” (multiple times) I was really excited to get my hands on this, and I must say, it was not disappointing! Really good read.

I just finished reading this book.
Exciting and maybe just slightly bewildering, but always gripping and never boring. I was attached to this book from the beginning of this reading journey to the end. I was conflicted by the ending, but haven‘t stopped thinking about it since I put it down. That‘s a good thing, right?

Balibee146 BBC kids home school programmes this week showed a recorded event of him meeting teenagers in Edinburgh during an old festival event when this was published. He spoke compellingly about this.... Said that the whole book was in the last line.... I lent my copy a week after it came out and my bestie is still to read and return all these years later lol... Wish I could remember that line! 4y
Kirstjaydeshaw @Balibee146 let me help you out! It reads: “Are you ready?” his friends ask him. He thinks, Yes. He thinks, Go in swinging. And he says, “I‘m ready.” 4y
Kirstjaydeshaw @Balibee146 “Go in swinging” as in advice from Regine earlier on in the book 4y
Balibee146 Thanks @Kirstjaydeshaw that fits with what he was saying to the kids... one of these days my friend will give it back and I'll re read 😁👍 4y
