Almost four days done and managed to finish two books. Going well so far #MarvellousMarch. Easter holidays start on Thursday so should have a little more time.

An interesting look at the many women who were executed in Great Britain over the years. Some entries are longer than others but some well known cases like Ruth Ellis. Book 2 of #MarvellousMarch 4*
Well what a ride this was. It is a slow start and takes a while to get into it but once i did, I was hooked. The plot picks up further into the book building to a really clever ending. I was surprised by what happened but it was definitely the best ending for this. There are many twists along the way and you can never quite tell how it would end. None of the characters are particularly likeable but you warm to Ann and especially Deborah. 4*
Well it's past midnight here in the UK so thought I'd post now. Today is the start of #MarvellousMarch readathon. My goal is just to read what I can when I can. @Andrew65 good luck all taking part.
This was an interesting read. I knew of some of the characters but not Maria's role in the story. She led quite the life and this was told thoughtfully through the story but it did seem to drag on a little at times. I think I was expecting a little more drama. I did grow to love Maria and her strength that develops more throughout the story. The ending in particular was so well written.
Wow what a roller coaster this was. As a mother myself it does really get you thinking about how far you would go for your own child. It's a dark and at times emotional read. None of the characters are overly likeable but you can find something relatable to each of them. I felt the most for Rachel the detective. Her story was tough. The plot is a fast paced thrill ride to a clever and brilliant finish. I was hooked from page one. 5*
#Netgalley 4* This was such a fun little short story and a perfect read at Halloween. I love a retelling and this is such an interesting concept. I do love Halloween so it was a fun read. The plot is simple and the ending is quite predictable but how it comes together is good. I loved the spirits and the first one was hilarious. A short but sweet Halloween read.
This does have some very Agatha Christie vibes throughout the story. The ship of course was real but much of the rest is false yet i found myself hoping she wouldn't have the ending we all knew was coming. The plot itself is interesting but at times it did drag a little. There are many characters and we don't learn enough about them to truly understand their motives. The ending was expected but I did enjoy how Gallagher finally figured it out. 3*
A short read with a few interesting cases from Suffolk. Fascinating to see the difference in men and women when it comes to poisoning. 4*
Well not my best readathon. Didn't quite hit ten hours but did finish one book. I do seem to be out of my slump though which is great. Hopefully better results next time. #FabulousFebruary #20in4 @Andrew65
This was a fascinating look at the poisons, featured in many of her novels. It's quite detailed so was a bit heavy at times but I loved all the references. It's careful not to issue too many spoilers but I've read most so it didn't worry me, it just sparked a need to re-read the books. 4*
#20in4 #FabulousFebruary joint readathon starting today. I'm hoping this kick starts my reading. Feb has been a rough month. We lost my husbands nan so been sorting things out. She was a legend and will be missed. Thanks for the tag about this @Andrew65
This was a fast burn, short read. It doesn't hang about which is good. The plot is interesting and has some clever twists along the way. It also touches on the ways media handles certain things. Mostly the discrepancy of men and women. Would Molly have suffered the way she did had it been the other way round? That aside, the murder was interesting though I did figure out the killer. I liked how the story came together. 4* #Netgalley
This was such a fun read. Its humorous, sweet, emotional and fun all in one book. This does touch quite a bit of grief but I think its very honest. The plot is a faster pace than most but it flows seamlessly without seeming too rushed. Yes the ending is fairly obvious from the start but I truly enjoyed the journey to it. The ending was well done and I liked how it played out. Melanie is fun and i instantly warmed to her. #Netgalley
This was an interesting read. Its quite a short read and the chapters are very short. Its told from the view of many of the characters so you get a bit of an insight into them all but not a deep connection like you would in a sole POV. I did like the changes though. The plot is quite simple but there's some clever developments along the way and i thought the ending was genius and welll written. A fun mystery.
This was an interesting read. Although the case begins the story, its a bit of a slow start. Her disappearance is intriguing and although I figured out parts of it. The main conclusion was a surprise. The characters are not instantly likeable yet you start to warm to Agnes and Florence and the connection that forms. This does deal with some triggering issues so might not be for all. I enjoyed it but at times it seemed to drag. #Netgalley 3*
Another great read in the series. There was so much drama in this one amf mystery. Still a fave series of mine 4*
wow this was such a heartbreaking and touching read. The strength and love of this father is so incredible. To go through something this horrific yet have the capacity to love and forgive is stunning. The story is told in short extracts but covers everything from the murder to the trial to beyond. His project is an amazing idea. The book is at times hard to read but there's also a lot of hope in it too. I did love the butterfly mentions 4*
Just realised i didn't post my final details about #JoyousJanuary. Not my best reading times but I did finish two books and chunks read in other stories so not all bad. @Andrew65
Sat in my car in the chilly Norfolk sunshine waiting for my daughter to finish getting some more time in for #JoyousJanuary readathon. Its not been a lot of reading but two books finished so far. Tagged above I started today after a visit to our brilliant library.
An interesting look at crime in the Victorian Times and some very well known cases in here. Plus many references to other books for more information which I really liked and have extended my book list. Second book finished for #JoyousJanuary
@Andrew65
Bit of a slow start to #JoyousJanuary but I have finished one book so that's a good start. Plus a chunk read in others. @Andrew65
Well there were a few twists along the way in this one. I hadn't figured them all out except Will's part in the story. The plot is a slow burn that jumps between the present and the start of their therapy journey. Its also told from both Maggie and Erin's viewpoint adding depth. The ending was clever and tied off most of the story. I would have liked more of a conclusion with Will's mother but it wasn't necessary. #Netgalley 3.5*
#JoyousJanuary readathon starts today. My goal is to get a couple of books finished and get out of the slump I fell into. @Andrew65
Gotta love a Sarah Morgan book at christmas or even after. I'm such a fan and was so excited to see a new book. This didn't disappoint either. It was such a good story. I love how their stories all came together and we saw them each grow and learn. The plot is fun and sweet. Delphi just might be my favourite character. The ending was brilliant and its a perfect festive read. #Netgalley 5*
Back to the world of Nick and Charlie I still love these two. What a great edition to the series. We don't see as much of their friends in this but there's a great moment with his sister. A brilliant read and it's now being stolen by my daughter. 5*
A fascinating and informative look at crime through the eyes of Agatha Christie books. If you're a fan of her work, you'll recognise many of the references. I'm a big fan and own just about all her crime books. Most collected by my mum. 4*
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers
Points for second half came in at 46,847 giving a total for the whole month of 84,816. Most were from the word search throughout the month. I read some good books and had lots of fun. Well done @LiseWorks for being our team captain. And all the others too. Yay to our team for each point they got.

Pyjamas
Stay up but not for too long after midnight
Neither maybe a wine or shot glass.
Couch.
Definitely heels for fun but most likely slippers.
A quiet NY eve with my husband and girls. They're old enough now to stay up and enjoy it. Good food, maybe a drink and just spend time together
A fun festive read at a German Christmas Market. Somewhere I've always wanted to go at Christmas. I do love lebukshen so much. Final read of the year. #WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks 4*
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks
These were a lovely festive set of stories. Because they're short they do move quite quickly but sometimes love does too. I enjoyed each one. There was romance, humour and care. A perfect mix.
#OrnamentHunt #WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks last post for ornament hunt. Got all prompts bar two. Bookish quote, my favourite colour I do love blue. Bigger than palm that's snowman sitting pretty with the angel and this year for character we had Gizmo sneak on the tree.
A cute, fun short story collection. Festive and romantic all the way. Great for happy endings and beautiful locations. #WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks
Wow this is a short and fast paced read. The deaths are almost a blink and you miss it. I did figure out the killer but wasn't sure of their motive until the end. The ending was well done. The police are so terrible in this or I just read too much crime to know they handled it wrong. Klarinda is a good lead and I loved Myrtle. I would like to read more. A fun festive short read. #Buddyread #WinterGames #REeindeerGamers @LiseWorks
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers #DailyPhotoChallenge @LiseWorks Day 29: #BlueFont. I didn't have many but this has a blue cover and light blue font.
More ornaments for #OrnamentHunt. #WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks Handmade by my daughter but Santa lost his eyes at some point, noisy bell, sporty ornament, would love a life sized rocking horse reminds me of one my nan had. Date on, this was made for my daughter at nursery her name is on the other side and a dragonfly new this year.
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers #OrnamentHunt
Looks edible, reminds of family (dad had some when we were young.) North Pole character couldn't be anyone but Santa. My daughter made the wooden bauble as a gift for me and an animal. @LiseWorks
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers #DecemberDreams. @LiseWorks @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Day 24: #StNick. A book with Saint Nick on the cover and one of the many in our house
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers #DailyPhotoChallenge @LiseWorks Day 24: #Presents. This is my next read and fits the prompt perfectly.
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks a collection of short stories. Some festive some less so all on the chilling crime side. Some I did figure out but they were all pretty good. I do like Val McDermid.
Two full movie bingo boards, thanks to the various movies I've been watching. #WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks Love Actually, once and twice upon a Christmas, Christmas with the kranks, princess switch 1-3, the Royal Prince, wedding and baby, four Christmases and more.
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks #DailyPhotoChallenge Day 23: Gold font. This is a really good short read.
Aww what a sweet story. A couple of tough subjects touched on but handled well. The plot is a steady burn to a beautiful ending. I loved the winter wedding she creates and Kyle had to be my fave character. The whole story is a perfect festive read. #WinterGames #ReindeerGamers @LiseWorks
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers #DailyPhotoChallenge @LiseWorks Day 20: #RedFont. Current read has some red font a d brilliant imagery. Plus it's a good read so far.
We meet with Alex Finn and his team again. I am enjoying this series of books. Its often dark and this one certainly is. It deals with some truly dark themes and given the way the world is right now it hits home hard. The plot is quite fast paced and builds to a brilliant conclusion. I had no idea who the killer was until around the same time Alex figured it out. It was a very clever twist. As well as the crime, we get to know them more #Netgalley
So first part of #WinterGames and my points were 37,969 for team #ReindeerGamers. Most were down to the word search words and the first game. @LiseWorks
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers #DailyPhotoChallenge Day 19 #Snowman. A cute kids story. @LiseWorks
A two story read with some very cute and festive stories. Plus the first was a team #ReindeerGamers read. Lots of words found for the word search too. Second story was the better of the two for me. 4* #WinterGames @LiseWorks
#WinterGames #ReindeerGamers #DailyPhotoChallenge @LiseWorks Day 18: #Ornament. This is a little glass sleigh that always reminds me of family as it came from my dad's tree. There's three and placed correctly they glow with the lights of the tree #OrnamentHunt
Watching the team movie for #ReindeerGamers #WinterGames. Its also a perfect prompt for day 17 of #DecemberDreams @LiseWorks @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
