Reading Challenge | Lesley Yates

Here‘s my progress on #theunreadshelfproject bonus challenges. The bonus challenge I didn‘t do last month was A Book Bought Because Of The Hype and the next bonus challenge I want to do this month is A Book From A Little Free Library but since I don‘t have a book for it, I‘m going to read a book that is already on my TBR to make it easier on myself.

Here‘s my progress for #theunreadshelfproject. I finally read a book for the October reading challenge but I haven‘t decided on a book for November‘s reading challenge so it looks like I will have to add on another book to my TBR because I‘m trying to catch up. I fell behind in October. I forgot about the November challenge.

Pickpick

Here‘s my review for a book I started in October. I won a physical copy of this book from Book Riot in 2017 and I finally got around to reading it. I‘m counting this book for 2 reading challenges. This is a YA Spy Thriller so I consider it to be a Genre Hybrid and I‘m secretly scared of this book because of the book title.

Here‘s my progress for #theunreadshelfproject. For the bonus challenge this month, I‘m going to choose a book I bought because of the hype. I haven‘t decided what to read for this one. I‘m going to look on my bookshelf or look through my digital books to see what I can find. I don‘t know if I have anything that would work for this bonus challenge but if I don‘t then I‘ll just read whatever I want.

Here‘s my progress for #theunreadshelfproject. I haven‘t figured out what I want to read for the October challenge but I‘m probably going to choose The Cruelty by Scott Bergstrom for this month. I think I‘m secretly afraid of it because of the title of the book. I think that‘s why I‘ve been putting off reading it until now.

I only gave it an hour, but I have no interest in finishing it. The writing is beautiful, but I just can‘t seem to get into the story, or care about the characters. One more off my shelf for #BookSpinBingo, and #TheUnreadShelfProject.

More caffeine? SURE! Why not?!

This book was cute, but I don‘t think I‘m going to carry on and read the second one. Which makes for 2 more books off my shelf for #TheUnReadShelfProject. Although I‘ve bought a ton of books this month, I‘m also trying to read off my shelf as much as possible to balance the numbers 😅

Graciouswarriorprincess I use my TBR pile for my challenges if they fit. I just took eight bags of books to the used book store. I sat in my car and read while they went through them due to Covid. I actually have room on my bookcases but moved my TBR piles into my bedroom corner. 2y
Clwojick @Graciouswarriorprincess aside from maybe 15 books, all 450-500 books I own are unread. 😅 Unless the book is important to me, they all get passed along or donated 2y
Graciouswarriorprincess @Clwojick I normally donate my books to my two library systems. One has a used bookstore in a local mall run by the friends of the library while the other system does a used book sale at the fairgrounds once a year. Now with Covid, they don‘t want used books. So I took them to the used book store, gave the store credit to one of my friends by putting it in her mailbox and then put the rest in several free little libraries. (edited) 2y

Sometimes you‘re just in the mood to buy books. Sometimes you‘re in that mood for a month. June is quickly becoming the month that I fail at #theunreadshelfproject.

Listening to the tagged audio during my walk home and making some more progress with #MidyearRush and #24B4MONDAY ♥️

TheAromaofBooks June was my book-buying month as well! I've bought more books this month than I usually buy in a year! 2y
AmyK1 Me too @TheAromaofBooks and @Clwojick But my mood might have gone on for 3 months...😂 2y
Clwojick @AmyK1 @TheAromaofBooks Blame it on Litsy. 😉 We‘re just a bunch of enablers. (edited) 2y
Caroline2 I have bought soooo many books this month. 😆 2y

Almost finished the tagged audiobook and completed another #bulletjournal spread. Again, I loved how this one turned out! Hoping to get my #unreadbookcount down to 423 by the end of June.🤞🏻

Well, although the first half of the book intrigued me enough to keep me reading, I decided to bail at 300 pages in. When books come with a glossary, geographical maps, character references and family bloodline maps it quickly becomes a bit much. Especially when you‘re only minding interested in the first place.

Oh well, can‘t love em all.

TheAromaofBooks haha so far the only two people who have turned in reviews are you and @hes7 - #MerryReaders for the win! 😂 2y
wideeyedreader Oh I love this book so much! I‘m sorry you didn‘t like it. It‘s actually my first #bookspin book too! 2y
Clwojick @wideeyedreader It‘s not one of my regular genres, so there was a slim chance I would‘ve gotten really into it. But I‘m glad you enjoyed it🤍 2y

Clwojick @TheAromaofBooks hahahahaha Go team go! I‘m actually reading with one of the Merry Readers bookmarks that I made, but were too big to go in the envelopes. Lol. 2y
Moonprismpower So proud of you! I never finish books that lose my interest and I will never feel guilty about it. 2y
wideeyedreader @Clwojick That makes sense! 2y
Clwojick @Moonprismpower I normally try to give it 100 pages, or the first hour of an audiobook. But I‘ve been bailing more and more these past few years. I think my reading interests have changed over the years, and sometimes you‘re just not into something that you had every intention of reading a few years back. 2y
