I always thought these books were satire. There is some good advice, but most of us won‘t retain the information, or do the training. Hopefully, we won‘t find ourselves in these situations either. The quicksand scene from The Never-Ending Story was one of the traumas of my childhood. I don‘t plan on having to follow directions for an escape in the first chapter 🤞🏻

I read this in the 7th grade and I still remember it to this day. I rated the book a 4 out of 5 stars.

I haven‘t been doing many individual book reviews lately but it always comes as a surprise to me when I‘m the first to post about a book so I couldn‘t let the opportunity pass me by. All middle graders will enjoy this adventurous series, particularly reluctant male readers who prefer the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, dogs etc. (Of note: abusive stepdad). Adults who enjoy a good road trip or nature read will also enjoy this series.

A boy befriends a fawn as he is lost in the wilderness after a car crash. This story is very emotional and sweet, and it is very brief. A one sitting read. Worth checking out, but be warned, you‘ll likely finish this before you‘re satisfied.
