I'm embarrassed to say that I can't find a single book on my shelf that's #setinSAmerica. I'm posting about this new nonfiction by Douglas Preston, which I keep hearing is really great, but I'm going to try to find some real South American lit to read soon. #booktober

A novel that takes the Italian film Cannibal Holocaust as its jumping off point? #yesplease #setinsamerica #booktober

EricaReads I loved that book! 8y
SarahK I just started it today! When I went to pick up some holds at the library there it was on the new books shelf. I'd heard @UnderTheRadarBooks rave about it. I'm really enjoying it so far. 8y
teebe Never liked Cannibal Holocaust but I think I need to check out this book! 8y

I haven't started this novel yet, but it's near the top of my TBR list—an experimental novel about a group of young men during a period of upheaval in Ecuadorian politics, set in the beautiful city of Guayaquil, Ecuador (my husband @Santiago 's hometown!). #booktober #setinSAmerica #bookssetinSAmerica

#octphotochallenge Today was unexpectedly easy; the book I'm reading my kids at bedtime takes place at an exotic zoo in South America. Love the setting. #setinsamerica @RealLifeReading

#setinsamerica #booktober even though this is only in South America for the end bit, it's the best bit!! @RealLifeReading

thegirlwiththelibrarybag Yesss! I need more Dresden in my life! Hope the next book comes out soon (it feels like it's been a couple of years) 8y
Seekingtardis @thegirlwiththelibrarybag agreed! Butcher is driving me crazy(er) he makes these amazing books then makes us wait FOREVER for the next one!!!!!!! 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Seekingtardis, I haven't tried his other series so it seems like FOREVER! Maybe next year? He used to be quite good for one a year... 8y
Seekingtardis I know he's got the new series he has started and the Dresden files and now apparently has a new new series with book 1 coming out late next year. So yay more books but boo it'll all take soooooo long!! 😱🙃 @thegirlwiththelibrarybag 8y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Seekingtardis, another new one! 😭 but I just want Dresden! 8y

I'm drying bay leaves, and they happen to match the covers of my books #setinsamerica!

House of the Spirits - of course! 💛💚💛
Travels in an Old Tongue - only part of this is set in South America, but Patagonia is an important part! I must admit this has sat unread on my shelf for way-too-many years - it was a leaving present when I moved away from Cardiff in, 😳ahem, 2001, having just passed my Welsh GCSE. I will read it - one day.

#Booktober A few books I read that were #setinsamerica I liked some more than others but I don't want to taint anyone's choices, so happy reading 📖

LauraBeth What did you think of State of Wonder? I've heard people say they either really loved or didn't like it at all - I need to read it! 8y
