Wow, what a book! I expected it to be a typical children's book and therefore was surprised to find a lot more depth, ethical questions and philosophical thought in it. And, if I'm allowed to compare, a lot better than “The One and Only Ivan“ 🙈

I love that summer means I have more time to go on these little adventures with my daughter.

I love that my daughter is now old enough to read books I'm also interested in reading. Gonna take advantage of her school library loan! 😁

I read this aloud to my 6 & 8 yr old daughters. A boy has grown up in an exotic zoo in the middle of the jungle in South America. Something strange happens and as a result, he forges a new connection with the animals. But is this a good thing? This was a little darker than my kids are used to: violence and references to murder. There was also some young romance. I prob would have skipped it had I known, but both my girls loved it anyway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
