My biggest coping skill is journaling
Other than music which I use and well as yoga

Here‘s a daily prompt for January and an interesting article https://vanillapapers.net/2020/08/25/journaling-techniques/

I collage journal and free write.

I'm truly sorry for my absence this week. It's been a very stressful week with a lot to deal with. So it's quite apt that I had planned this activity to help us get through the stresses of the holidays. 😅

Let loose and share all your coping mechanisms for keeping stress at bay. 🩵❄️🩵

@TheBookHippie @Chrissyreadit @jenniferw88

Dilara So sorry the week was stressful for you! I hope things are better now 😁
I can't say I have original tips for coping: breathing, letting go of unrealistic goals, delegating if possible...
4mo
kspenmoll I am so sorry about your stressful week. I hope this coming week will be a better one. My coping methods: walking, especially walking in nature - I notice all the trees, bushes, plants, they have a special beauty in winter. I have a meditation I do that is all about letting go of yuck energy in your body and breathing. I talk to friends- I need to be heard & that can ease my mind too. It‘s the way I process. I read to escape into another world. 4mo
IndoorDame I‘m sorry you were under so much stress! Let us know if you need anything ♥️ When I‘m stressed I my go tos are candlelit bath with essential oils and Epsom salts, chai in my grandma‘s teapot, CBD chocolate if it‘s legal where you live - regular chocolate if it‘s not, music, and breath work 4mo

AnnCrystal Warning ⚠️ THIS RECIPE IS NOT TO DRINK 🚫, & YOU MUST KEEP WATCH. This is never to be left unsupervised!

When my household is stressed, I usually place a pot of water at a slow simmer with uncrushed Allspice. While not 💯, the aromatherapy of the smell seems to inspire smiles 😊.
(edited) 4mo
AnnCrystal P.S. From my understanding, Allspice should be consumed lightly and only on occasion. Allspice can do more harm than good if one does not understand this. Again, the above recipe is not for drinking. 🚫⚠️. & Keep away from children and pets ⚠️🚫. (edited) 4mo
AllDebooks @Dilara @kspenmoll@IndoorDame @ AnnCrystal Thank you for your kind words and advice. Some great coping strategies there x 3mo

I‘ve been seeing lots of posts about #BFC2022, so I hope you won‘t mind if I join!

My May goals are:
🌺 My lower belly pooch is really starting to bother me, so I‘m trying a 30 Day Ab Challenge.
🌺 I‘ve been really bad about working through lunch. Every day I‘m going to take a break at least long enough to read a chapter of my book. If it takes two minutes, it takes two minutes…(cont‘d)⬇️

Maggie4483 ↪️…and if it takes an hour, it probably means my office mate is distracting me. 🙃And finally….🌺 Did you know May is Salad Month?!?! Im going to eat a salad as a meal at least once a day. I love salad, so this shouldn‘t be too hard. And I know salads aren‘t necessarily healthy. But the goal here is just to get more veggies in my diet. (edited) 2y
mcipher I am right there with you on the veggies! Love salads but I‘ve been struggling to get more veggies lately 2y
Maggie4483 @mcipher it‘s the prep work for me. I‘m way too cheap to buy pre-cut produce, but all the chopping and slicing required for all the good-for-you food is just so time consuming. 2y
wanderinglynn Welcome! We‘re glad to have you join us. Great goals! 🙌🏻 Let me know if you have any questions. 2y

Pickpick

Meal planning, we are in full isolation (week 10) and I am only able to have food delivered once a week, that needs to be ordered in advance, so meal planning and my recipe books are vital at the moment - I still seem to have the knack of forgetting to buy one essential ingredient though 😂

Crazeedi That always seems to happen doesn't it?😉 4y
RainyDayReading This happens to me all the time! There‘s always one thing missing no matter what I cook 🙈 4y
veritysalter @Crazeedi @RainyDayReading The best bit was, I forgot the noodles for the recipe on top... A NOODLE SALAD!!! Fortunately I found some, lurking in the back of the cupboard. This week I have accidentally bought a stuffed pork loin instead of plain, so I‘ll have to scrape the stuffing off I order to cook the pork kebabs I have planned 😂. I‘m so foggy at times it‘s ridiculous. 4y
RainyDayReading @veritysalter 🤣 that‘s too funny! I can‘t remember what it was I was missing last time. But usually it ends with me finding something similar enough-ish to what I needed and asking my boyfriend “this should work right?” 🙈 poor boy tries to support me but his replies of “yeah” with a high pitched questioning tone at the end aren‘t reassuring haha. 4y

Cinfhen Looks good! I think someone else is hosting the #2020DystopianReads 😁 4y
WJCintron @Cinfhen Yes! I'm participating from a couple of challenges and crossing over some of the prompts/books which is allowed. That one is hosted by someone else. Sharing like it was requested by them. And it also fits your prompt for the #booked2020 under the 4th of July: red/blue/white type, summer prompt. It's a lot of fun!! Thanks for hosting!! 😃🙌 4y

Cinfhen Got it!!!! You are participating in lots of challenges/ me too!!! Sometimes it‘s hard to track them all 😅 4y
WJCintron @Cinfhen tell me about it!! 🤣😂 Last year I couldn't read at all, like only 12 or 13 books. I was more focused on writing and producing a web series. This year I want to read what I couldn't plus many more. Let's see what happens. Sometimes life gets in the way. 🙄 Have a great night! Gotta go to bed, it's 4:33am!!! Time to close the books and call it a night. 😁Zzzzzzzzz 🌛Bye!! 4y

This a non-book related note. If you are in a fast food restaurant, do not eat ANYTHING with lettuce on it. I forgot last night when I went to Wendy's, and spent the rest of the night on my knees praying to the porcelain God. Usually I just have pickles, onions and mustard, but I was in a hurry so I took it as is. Big Mistake!!

Kaye Are they still having that issue with lettuce ? I know a couple weeks ago they removed it from the store shelves but it‘s back on again. Sorry you got so sick. Not fun. 5y
BibliOphelia I read that the FDA has stopped inspections since the shut down. If so, expect more of this. 😢 Hope you‘re back in business! 5y
Lauram 😬 5y
Patchshank I thought it was just romaine lettuce. Is it all lettuce now? I really don't follow these things like I should. I hope you're feeling better. 5y
