From afar, I know that these fires cause great tragedy as they consume homes & lives. This book helped me comprehend the depth of trauma each individual faces when this type of devastation strikes.

It‘s a beautifully written story of loss with a glimmer of new beginnings. The author captured the emotional impact so vividly & I am thoroughly impressed with his work.

This was a powerful and engrossing story that stirred up a lot of emotion, some of it because it reminded me so much of my own painful memories. I think it is one of the best books I‘ve read in a long time. It is one I wish I could give more than five stars to.

The story is a lot of fun with some intriguing darkness. It takes a while to get there but you learn about the characters, their struggles, their heartaches, and their quiet hopes as it pulls you into the dark fairytale twist.

Kya is officially my favorite human character from a book. I felt as if I knew her and, at the same time, I wished I could know her. I think there is something incredibly magical about a book that stirs such emotion within me.

It saddens me that this book of contemporary poetry hasn‘t received more attention. Valerio Magrelli has an extraordinary ability to explain the most mundane things and turn them into beautiful portraits and profound points. He is an exquisite artist with words.

There is a lot of depth packed between the pages of this extraordinary book. Some of the issues it deals with are war and its effects, trauma in various forms, searing loss, overwhelming grief, moral choices, the poison of prejudice, and harmful religious beliefs.

I didn‘t care much for the title poem. Other than that, there were some beautiful, haunting, thought-provoking, and troubling poems in this book with lines that I will gladly revisit so they can stick to my soul.

Although I enjoyed this, I didn‘t feel quite as mesmerized by Lee‘s words in this collection as I did by Rose, the previous work I read of his.

Inkheart is a magical story that brings the mystery and wonder of books to life. It made me laugh, cry, worry, and hope. I felt the text was captivating, adventurous, and heartwarming. This is a well-written children‘s novel with rich, descriptive vocabulary, profound ideas, intoxicating charm, and a heroic crusade.

Although the book was a little slow to start, once it picked up, I didn‘t want to put it down. I really enjoyed the pull of this narrative. Unfortunately, the ending left me slightly dissatisfied, as I had expected more fireworks.

I am now very interested in reading The Wife Between Us in the future. Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen are excellent writers and storytellers.
