My morning activities today: lazy reading, coffee, and maybe some crochet, my newest hobby. My reading has slowed down a lot as the year progressed, but I‘m refusing to see that as a bad thing. It‘s been deeper and more meaningful in many ways. Still, it‘s a mystery to me that I tend to read less when I start having more time off of work for the holidays. This morning‘s mood is an anomaly.

This book falls between a so-so and a pick for me. When I found this book 5 years ago, I treated it more as an encyclopedia as someone learning about the Ace spectrum for the first time. For all the information and resources that are laid out, it‘s a great introductory resource. I didn‘t really care for the fact that the author seems to imply that Ace people should be grateful for the scraps of inclusivity that may be received in queer spaces ⬇️
Bookfest Day 2: not as impressive a haul, but I'm happy with what I did find.
So I set out to write this book to articulate how:
- the unexplored consequences of AIDS
- and the literal gentrification of cities
- created a diminished consciousness about how political and artistic changes get made
