Hoping to qualify for early sign ups for #AuldLangSpine, formerly NYWD with @monalyisha ! Here‘s my pen from voting Tuesday in NYC and a vaguely relevant book haha, thanks!! Love this opportunity to swap favorite book lists from the past calendar year :)

monalyisha Love “vaguely relevant.” Perfect. Thank you! 1y

Girl in Disguise | Greer Macallister

I can't read this article about Kate Warne without a subscription to the Washington Post. But, this book is a beautifully rendered fictionalized account of her early life as the first female Pinkerton detective. Very little is actually known about Warne, so Macallister imagines the kind of woman she must have been in order to do what we know she did. #LovePrevails #PresidentsDay #Lincoln @Eggs Written by #litsyauthor @theladygreer

theladygreer It‘s a good article! Love seeing so much interest in Kate. 3y

#LovePrevails Day 12: #LincolnBday - It was lovely knowing more about Lincoln through this PBB – his humble beginnings, the fact that he towered over practically all of his classmates while he was growing up, and his unapologetic love for books, notwithstanding its apparent unpopularity among people who failed to understand his literary predilections. Eggs Such a great book for younger readers👏🏻📚❤️👏🏻 3y

This NF book is so cute ! The illustrations are adorable and get readers intrigued. I have linked a website where you can find activities that go with this book. You can use these when discussing the topic of Abraham Lincoln and use other books in your lesson to go along with it. The EL #15 reinforce key ideas to present again and again can go with this lesson by using

juliap99 multiple books on the subjects of Abe Lincoln and slavery. The UDL I chose is 3.1 to activate or supply background knowledge. When using this book this can occur because most of your students have heard of Abe Lincoln. #ucflae3414sp20 4y
Ryan_R I love the animation style of this! Also, you know it should be good if PBS is apart of it! 4y
ValeriaCastaneda23 What a cute way to incorporate history into a children book, I literally adore cute books like this. Great choice 4y
DrSpalding Well these are non-fiction… They are about historical figures so that means it is what genre? This is an excellent series! PBS has turned them into cartoons. Both would be helpful when teaching social studies content to elementary age students. 4y
