Somewhere in history, their name and story has been lost.

Not a fairy, not a gnome, yet they are often mistaken for these mystical spirits if someone is lucky enough to catch a glimpse.

Where they haunt hints about who they are, for it is books that summon these tiny people.

AnnCrystal A half dozen books are enough to attract one, but they mean no harm. Simply spirit guardians, they are protectors of libraries. Protectors of stories in every language, even those told in the ancient pictographs and petroglyphs. They guard the well-being of all readers.

Book worms and moths are their food, but their job is not to dust the books in their care. It is to guard against spirits from escaping books.

AnnCrystal Good characters are not their concern. It is the archenemies, the villains, the hungry monsters, the bad and the cruel that must be kept from escaping.

So don't be scared of these mystical, little warriors if you ever happen to glance one amongst your books

Because they are indeed warriors, guarding reality from the mystical lands created by writers, authors, and poets.

Ghost In The Kitchen

During Christmas time, a neighbor brought cookies that she gifted Lilac and her daughter, Delilah Ann with each and every year.

The neighbor, Lucy always gave her cookies on a fancy Holiday dish that Lilac waited to return each following Christmas.

For Christmas 2018, Lilac noticed that the yearly batch of homemade cookies arrived on a plate that was worn with age. Assuming it was a heirloom, Lilac took extra good care of the plate. Even keeping the plate alone on the top shelf of a cabinet in the kitchen.

As the New Year 2019 came and rolled along, the fire alarm began going off in the kitchen.

AnnCrystal No smoke, no fire, just a panic caused by the fire alarm in the kitchen shrieking randomly at random hours throughout the months moving forward.

At one point, the kitchen's fire alarm was even replaced for a new model. An alarm that sounded a warning with a human-like voice.

When that voice from the new fire alarm first warned the household about there being smoke in the kitchen, there was still no smoke to be discovered.

AnnCrystal By the time the 2019 Christmas season rolled around, the new and old fire alarms were both guarding the kitchen. Each continuing to give random false warnings. Individually, never sounding together.

Lilac retrieved last year's plate when Lucy, the neighbor came knocking at the front door with her yearly gift of freshly baked, Christmas cookies.

AnnCrystal It was then that a sudden inkling began to register with Lilac. Especially when Lucy looked at the old plate as it was returned to her, giving a funny-kind of look.

“This plate belonged to an old friend of mine,“ Lucy explained her emotional reaction to the plate. “She died a few years ago.“

When Lucy left and went home, she telephoned Lilac a few minutes later. “Can you or Delilah Ann come over here?“ Lucy's voice pleaded, “My fire alarm is going crazy and I can't understand why!“

Lilac and her daughter, Delilah Ann loved hunting for second-hand treasures. Antique, vintage, or items of nostalgia are the things that captured their interests.

Two, little whimsical Nun statuettes were perfect for Lilac's personal eclectic collection.

AnnCrystal The three inch, ceramic Nuns had sweetness written all over them. One held the saxophone and the other held a shovel and basket of flowers.

Second-hand goods are always likely to come included with energies from previous owners or even ghosts. For this reason, Lilac always quarantined new additions she brought home.

AnnCrystal Placed on a table with a motion-sensor, new additions were quarantined for fourteen days to learn if a blessing was necessary.

The night that the two little Nuns came home to live with Lilac, she was awoken at 2:34 A.M. by the beep, beep from the motion-sensor guarding the Nuns.

Lilac lay awake, waiting to see if more beeps would sound.

AnnCrystal Instead, a beautiful lullaby began to play musical notes from a saxophone. Followed by the drifting fragrance of flowers.

I am a Cat who is on her last life. Just to be clear, the nine lives legend is a bit more complicated than humans fathom.

We Cats receive nine lives to reincarnate as a Feline...after that, we either move on to the grand reward or get ourselves reborn as a Bird, or a Lizard, or a Mouse, you get the idea.

AnnCrystal Every Animal upon the globe of Earth has Medicines, has teachings, are magical.

The Medicines of the Cat are meant to help the female warrior, including those who were born to tap into the feminine energies.

Cats have nine lives to live, nine lives to find a Witch to energize, to balance, to guide and protect. Nine lives to become a Familiar, because only then will nine additional lives be gifted.

The Winds shift a magic infused breeze. I catch the fragrance of a Witch.

Here I go again, to capture myself nine new lives.

The Power Of The Lady

The Lady could always feel the shift before it happens. It has happened before. Generally the shift in weight is barely noticeable, but there have been times when the weight causes an almost intolerable imbalance.

Yet it is usually this Woman's obligation to wait and assess, to give the imbalance a chance to even out and restore equality.

AnnCrystal It was within the powers of this Lady to anticipate that this current shift would become such an intolerable imbalance that the period of time needed to assess would not be lengthy.

And by the time the Scales of Justice became completely imbalanced, the Woman had already placed the scales down at her feet.

AnnCrystal Lady Justice kept her sword firmly gripped with one hand as her other hand retrieved a Judges Hammer from a hidden pocket in the folds of her dress.

To the Great Bell of Justice, Lady Justice took her Judge's Hammer and slammed it against the Great Bell three times.

The Bell rang the call of Justice across the Lands of America.

AnnCrystal From sea to glittering sea, Lady Justices who were as small as tiny statuettes and as large as lifesize monuments heard the call.

Ceramic, marble, and concrete began to crack as the Spirits of Justice broke free from their places of slumber.

Together, they sing a song well known, a folk song by Pete Seeger and Lee Hays
