This is a lovely exploration of perspective, perception, and the passage of time. A rock can be so much more than a rock-it has a unique purpose for all living things 💗

No matter what you are, you matter. Whether you are big or small, or however you may be, you matter. This book shows that each and everyone of us matters, as does everything around us.

This book holds a special place in my heart and I‘ll read it to all of my future classes. It shows that each one of us matters, no matter where we are in life and that is the most important thing a book can teach

4 🌟 I really enjoyed how the author played with color (pun intended). Gray is tired of being left out. So he decides to tell a story, but the colors keep butting in and thinking something is going to eat the cat. This is great for laughs, great for colors, and actually great for talking about difference with people and things.

A sweet story to remind kids we all matter, no matter who we are or what our place in the universe is. #BBRC Picture Book Letter Y @LibrarianRyan #WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers @StayCurious

A Stone Sat Still | Brendan Wenzel

4.8/5🪨

If you love the infamous Eric Carle and his art style, you will absolutely love A Stone Sat Still. In fact, Brendan Wenzel, the author of this piece is currently featured in the Eric Carle museum at the gift shop. This story is unique because instead of the main character going on a journey, the journey comes to the main character. Who is the main character? A single stone that can be viewed from many angles.

AndreaEfres As for elementary education, this story is great for early readers in grades 1 and 2. It can be used for growing vocabulary knowledge for concepts of color, size and function.

It would be a great idea to use this book for Reading/English class time because it teaches the reader to decipher figurative language, comparing and contrasting elements, linking cause and effect, and looking at perceptions.
