Mehso-so

Batterson encourages readers to put more faith in the strength of their God than in the strength of the "lions" in their lives - whatever fears or obstacles might be in their way. Love the message and it's given me plenty to chew on, but the writing was at times trite and repetitive. Would have worked better as a sermon series. Took me months to finish because I couldn't get thru more than two chapters at a time. ???.5

I really love the energy and clarity that Mark writes with. This was a book that will have me thinking for a long time.

Well, that's laying it on a bit thick, isn't it, Harry? Both Harry and Slughorn take advantage of opportunities in this chapter. Harry's goal of getting the much-needed memory is more noble than Slughorn jumping at the chance to collect valuable commodities he can later sell to feed his crystallized pineapple habit--but they both take advantage of others in order to take advantage of #opportunity. #hpchapteraday 👇

BarbaraJean Is there a way to follow through on opportunities without "taking advantage"? Looking at this chapter through the theme of opportunity made me wonder how the way we talk about opportunities is so geared towards pushing ourselves ahead at the expense of others. In the end there's no real harm done here, but the methods used kind of make me uncomfortable the more I think about it! 7y

Harry finally uses his prize from potions to give him the #opportunity he needs to get the memory from Professor Slughorn. Professor Slughorn uses the opportunity of running into Harry to have some valuable venom from poor Aragog. #hpchapteraday @Redjewel_7734

I loved seeing Harry have some success, but it does take some serious magic to make it happen. Poor Harry, he needs so much help to get this done. Slughorn never really redeems himself in my eyes. Even now, he benefits.
