The Sun Down Motel | Simone St. James

Oh it was so good. Just so fun. Ending was honestly a little so-so. However, I enjoyed this classic take on a haunted motel story. Such a fun element to jump between stories as well. If you‘re craving a classic not-to-spooky ghost story, I highly recommend this one. #ghoststory #mystery #horror #horrorbook #motel

Y‘all this book was So Good. It genuinely made me cry several times, an all too relevant story about hatred and racism in the lives of immigrants through the eyes of a tenacious and resourceful young girl who‘s going to change the world one person at a time.

I loved Front Desk and now that we are on summer break I can finally get to this one. Yang starts off strong with immigration laws and other racist behavior. #friendship #California #motels #AsianAmericans

In this sequel to Front Desk, Mia Tang and her family are the proud new owners of the motel they bought from their landlord. But Mia‘s best friend, Lupe, fears her undocumented father will be deported to Mexico, under the looming threat of California Proposition 187. However, author Kelly Yang puts enough love into this fictional retelling of a turbulent time in California history that there‘s plenty of room for hope.🏮#mayreads2021

I was so glad that I could go back and visit Mia, her family, friends and everyone at the Calivista Motel. I love how Mia and her friends stand up for what they believe in and don‘t let being young stand in their way. Can‘t wait until the next installment comes out!

Hey why did any one tell me about this!!!. The story of Mia and her family and friends at the Calivista Motel continues in this powerful, hilarious, and resonant sequel to the award-winning novel Front Desk. Mia Tang thinks she's going to have the best year ever. ... The motel is struggling, and Mia has to answer to the Calivista's many, many worried investors. 3.
