I don‘t ever read fiction so I have nothing to really compare this to, but I liked it. The perfect sized book to bring out and kill 30 minutes. I kept wanting to know how things would play out. I didn‘t realize there was an epilogue and the first chapter of another book at the end, so when the book ended, I was surprised and expecting more.

Main characters are female and I‘m enjoying it. An investigation of a judge turns deadly.

Finished my first book for the #trappedonanisland challenge. For a debut, it wasn't that bad. A decent legal thriller. Not perfect, but I enjoyed it.

The ending is slightly disappointing but is also consistent with the behaviors of the characters, so not unsatisfactory. All in all, a really good read.

Mehso-so

I just finished and it left me so mad!

This author used to just write a good story. He would have action and definite good guys and bad guys . . . lately though he has a good enough following that he has decided that he is going to write whatever the heck he wants because he knows that people will buy and read his books anyway. I suppose I am an example of that!

You can‘t see it in the photo but this edition of the book was a freebie from South West Trains 🚂

Interesting look at the American justice system and in particular the treatment of rape victims.

Guilt or innocence don‘t matter just what can be proved

Touted as a prequel to The Whistler. Witness to a Trial details the trial of Junior Mace, who turns out to be a pivotal character in The Whistler. It goes into detail about a trial that was mentioned but not fully explored in Whistler. I enjoyed it
