Hello Litsy! I‘ve not been here for quite a while but I came back and instantly felt why I liked it here in the first place. So here I am.

It took me some time to get into the story as I was annoyed by the MC turning into jelly a good-looking man appeared. But I liked the group of strong women and it was fast-paced and even though I didn‘t thought so during the first half of the book, I think I‘ll read the second book in this series as well.

The clown suddenly appeared beside a group of kids at the candy floss van, bringing Kira to an abrupt halt. Then it began. The rapid heartbeat, the burst of perspiration, the gasping breath. The baby lurched inside her, as though sharing her panic. When the body of a pregnant teenager is found in a Hall of Mirrors with the full-term foetus surgically removed, forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod is called in to assist the police.

EadieB Suspicion falls on Jeff Coulter, a psychotic inmate at a nearby hospital whose hobby is making Reborns ' chillingly realistic baby dolls intended for bereaved parents or those unable to conceive. But how could he have orchestrated the murder from a secure mental facility? The investigation leads to a group of teenage girls who seem to have all got pregnant at the same time. 4mo
EadieB Then a Reborn doll is discovered near the crime scene and a second girl from the group is found dead.. Creepy, compelling and heart-stoppingly tense, The Reborn is Lin Anderson's most powerful novel yet.
This was a good book but a disturbing read. Reborn babies being hand made and babies taken from the womb of women. We found out the truth about McNab which is a nice replacement for Sean. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Bit of a mixed back. Struggled to get into this one for the first third but then it took off for me and couldn‘t put it down for the rest of the book. Difficult themes but ended up being one of the better ones in the series with a few surprises along the way and setting other storylines up for future book. Proving to be an excellent series. @EadieB @Tove_Reads

Wow… What did I just read???? Insanity! What a roller coaster of a read. The case itself is so complicated, and strange, and wrong in so many ways. People make me sick! And McNab 😲 This book takes your breath away, and messes with the reader‘s head. Highly recommended!

Andrew65 That‘s for tomorrow. 4mo

Started reading the seventh book on the #RhonaMcLeod series. Yet again a very different kind of story. I love how versatile these books are!

Selma Falck has just survived a horrendous sniper attack that claimed the life of one of her best friends.
Unsure what motivated the attack at first Selma and and even the police she was the target.
But then Selma investigates and finds she wasn‘t the target at all, just a useful tool.
The truth is a lot more sinister than she thought and danger is hot on her heels.
Really enjoyed this, never read the author before.

There were too many descriptions of landscapes for my liking. Also I solved the case 2/3 into the book. But it was a good closer for my crime-frenzy. Now onto novels again.

I‘m really enjoying these books. This is third in series. There is a fourth out this June but I‘ll have to wait for paperback later in the year. I love Poe and Tilly. The story gets me in every time and keeps me reading to the very end. Wondering if they will be picked up for a tv series.

My reading time during the week is pretty much non-existent which makes me even more cranky than I am naturally. Here‘s to setting more boundaries and managing expectations so I don‘t end up burning out completely. Also hoping to be able to digest something other than my comfort reads. Oh, but the book was good. Pleasantly gruesome. 😈 #SeriesRead2021

Suet624 I‘m trying not to be too annoyed about my lack of reading time as well. It‘s tough though. 2y
