I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!) Feel free to join in!

Pickpick

A lovely romance with sprinkles of comedy. Haley comes home early to catch her half sister pretending she is Haley in an attempt to steal her inheritance. Haley heads to Nantucket to accept a summer job offered her and check out the house she inherited which is rumored to hold ghosts. Haley does some growing up and meets some gorgeous men. I enjoyed this.

Switching it up to a contemporary retelling today: a local theater is putting on a production of P&P, but the reality of everyone's lives seems to be reflecting the story a little more than one might expect...

This one was a case of good concept/poor execution in my person opinion, although there are a lot of positive reviews for this one, so maybe I'm just a grump haha I spent a lot of the book being confused about the relationships/connections⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) between the characters as there is very little explanation given for how all of these people who are apparently half-siblings to one another since their dad was a sperm donor, actually found each other?? Beyond that, I was still prepared to give this book a decent rating, but the ending went off the rails when “Wickham“ absconds with “Lydia“ and instead of CALLING THE POLICE, the entire crew decides to lure him back to finish acting ⬇ 2y
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) in the play!??! I couldn't get over it! Full review, including a bit of ranting, can be found here lol - https://thearomaofbooks.wordpress.com/2017/07/23/the-girl-from-summer-hill-by-ju...

mabell I like the idea of the actors‘ lives reflecting the play! That could be a very cool adaptation! But then I‘m lost on the sperm donor and kidnapping thing 😂 2y
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - I literally tried to find out if this is a spin-off series or something where it would make sense that a reader would theoretically already know some of these people, but I can't find any connection to any of her other books! So maybe it's just me overthinking things 😂 But the kidnapping really was bizarre, like a crazy dude just stole a 15-year-old with sexually nefarious plans... guess we'll just trick him into coming back!?!? 2y
CrowCAH Wow a sperm donor and all the children unit. Now that‘s quite the dynamic! 2y

Apparently I've been away from Litsy for over two years!? 🙈 I don't know how that happened! But I'm back, with a new appreciation of Christmas romance and a desire to talk to book people again! #whatdidimiss
