Mehso-so

Not entirely sure how to review this book as the first half was terrific and the exploration of the unusual relationship between the author‘s parents, her family‘s history and the strong bond between the author and her mother. This part of the story was compelling. However half way through there is a sudden reveal and after that the writing becomes a lot more disjointed and the book becomes quite… whiny? TW: abuse

Bailedbailed

It took me forever to get into this and when I finally did, it got weird...in a bad way. And then I found out the author made some awful comments about trans people. So, yeah, I'm bailing.

“Flowers in the Attic“ is a dark and unforgettable novel that explores the depths of human depravity and the resilience of the human spirit. While it is a work of fiction, it raises important questions about family, loyalty, and the corrupting influence of greed. The novel's enduring power lies in its ability to create a chilling and unsettling experience that remains with the reader long after the story concludes...

Awesome find at the library book sale tonight!!

If I can't have the hardcover edition my mother got rid of (I will never not be mad about that), I'm happy to settle for a first Pocket Books printing from November 1979 for only $0.60 😁 Couldn't believe a room full of booksellers scooping up everything in sight passed this by 🤣

Guys, what did I just read??? This book frustrated me endlessly because it had a ton of plot holes. It made me super uncomfortable and the ending was a little anticlimactic. But yet I couldn‘t put it down. It caught my attention and made me want to read again. After a four month book slump I‘m grateful for that.

ChaoticMissAdventures Imagine if you will it is 1990 and I am a new teen and my cousins give this to me because new teen GenXers needed trauma to form us 😂. 13mo
wildwoodreads @ChaoticMissAdventures Oooofff I‘m sure that was an experience 😂😂😂 I‘m mildly traumatized and I‘m grown. 😂 13mo
