It seems I'm torn with the style of Deborah Levy. I'm a big fan of two of her books (Swimming Home & Hot Milk), yet this and "Black Vodka" just weren't for me. I found it hard to connect to the characters and I found it hard to know what was actually going on. Unfortunately it's one star for "Billy and Girl".

Tough reading about the ocean and heat in southern Spain when I'm at home in the cold and snow. Still finding a way to enjoy it though. #hotmilk #deborahlevy Update: This was an interesting read, not my favorite but overall is was pretty good.

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. Even though the chapters aren't always consistent with each other and feel dislocated, I adored the feminism behind the lines, the characters and many quotes put me deeply into thoughts. 5/5 stars, what a masterpiece! 👏😍🌟
