So-so, mostly because I have never had to suspend my disbelief QUITE this hard before😅 The characters were well drawn, and the spice was…intense, and overall an enjoyable enough romance, but there was just something about the way it was carried out that didn‘t ring true for me. An affair this illicit needs to be a lot more circumspect than this one is — they might as well have put an ad out. I may just be too cynical, but can‘t help that!

A directionless girl in her 20s embarks on an affair with a married workmate. I found the protagonist self-indulgent and delusional and the married man an incomprehensible egotist whose only motivation seems to be a younger, adoring body. It did make me reminisce about a friend in a very similar situation in her 20s. Where did his wife think he was when he was eating very average dinners in my Fitzroy sharehouse?
After tonight, I‘d be too busy appreciating how perfect life could be, bathed in twinkling lights, surrounded by a swirl of paper snowflakes, and wrapped up in the right pair of arms.

Brilliant! A "POC" (person of color) discovers the benefits and opportunities of false victimhood. And in case you're wondering, no, it's not a biography of Ta-Nehisi Coates. ?

Enthrall was a very good read. I loved the storyline and the characters in the book. I wanted more BDSM scenes though, and the love scenes between Richard and Mia were subpar. But I guess since this is book one, the author has decided to treat this novel as an introduction to what is expected in book 2.

I went into this book with very low expectations due to the low ratings I found. But, I loved this one!
Not all of us know what we want by the time we‘re 30, and I feel that Benavent was able to portray that very well with Catalina.
I loved the roommates, and I found romance between Catalina and Mikel realistic, because sometimes, being in love is scary.
