Even though I have a shorter commute, I seem to read more books now. #audiobook #commuterlife

This happened on my train today. So I got a little extra reading in but also feared for my life a little. #monday #littleenginethatcould #commuterlife

GingerAntics So glad you're still with us!!! A little extra reading is always nice, too. 5y
Jilly6183 @GingerAntics Thanks! I'll never complain about extra reading time. But that doesn't mean I won't complain about the disfunctional commuter rail that gave it to me 😂 5y
GingerAntics Yeah I think you've earned the right to complain about that. Luckily (knock on wood) that's never happened on a commuter train I was on, even in the rain. Hope that luck holds out (knock on wood) because it sounds scary. If I wanted to be on a bloody roller coaster I'd not be on my way to work, thanks. 5y

Susanita I thought maybe this was a metaphor. 5y

Jilly6183 @Susanita unfortunately no! A real announcement. I guess it worked because we eventually got to our destination, but yikes. Not a great start to a Monday! 5y

The Lost Painting | Jonathan Harr

Pickpick

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved this one for my museum book club! Admittedly, art history books can sometimes be a snooze. But I found this one thrilling and well written, interspersing the artist‘s bio with the amazing discovery process of a lost painting. #audiobooks #commuterlife

As I always remind people, libraries are for more than just books! They help me live my #commuterlife in relative happiness.

I heard Beth Orton‘s “Stolen Car” on the radio the other day & remembered how much I like her, so I ordered a few of her albums, as well as Kacy & Clayton‘s “The Siren Song”, David Rawlings‘ “Poor David‘s Almanack”, & “Ready Player One” for #freakyfriday (which I‘ll start when I‘m done with my Queen Victoria bio)!

monalyisha P.S. This car is not “stolen.” She‘s mine, & her name is Baby (she‘s a Buick LeSabre: “Baby LeSaby”). Nobody puts her in a corner. 6y
Billypar I love everything about this post 😂 6y

RainyDayReading I have to read Ready Player One for #freakyfriday as well! 6y
Clwojick Yay! Can‘t wait to hear what you think about Ready Player One 6y
monalyisha @Billypar then maybe you will also like that the custodian where I worked saw me setting up this shot on my lunch break & mocked me mercilessly when I returned. 🙈😳 6y
monalyisha @Clwojick @RainyDayReading I don‘t know if I would‘ve read it on my own; it‘s roughly the right decade for me, pop-culture-wise, but I‘m afraid I‘m the wrong kind of nerd & that some of the references will be lost on me. But I‘ve heard it‘s great & am excited to listen to give it a shot & listen to Wil Wheaton! 6y
MeganAnn Love this! ❤️ My husband and I are hoping to go see the movie this weekend, although I've heard it's quite different from the book. I recognized many references, but there were quite a few others that I didn't know. However, that really didn't take away from the story for me - obviously since its on my favorites list. Wheaton is the perfect narrator for this! 😉 6y
Billypar @monalyisha Ha- yes, I enjoy that as well. We all try to keep our Litsy photo staging as private as possible, but sometimes, there's no avoiding discovery 😸 6y
JoScho RPO is not my normal type of read either but I am listening to it and loving it. I had goosebumps today listening in the car. It is amazing. I hope you enjoy it ☺️ 6y

[DELETED] 3803335244 Welcome to Litsy! 6y
shaynarae @ForeverNerdy Thank you! Happy to be here and start getting oriented 🤗 6y
Rcoco How was this? I just started it and I‘m not sure if I am going to get used to her voice. 6y
shaynarae @Rcoco I haven‘t finished it yet, though I‘m close to the end. I don‘t mind her voice, but husband couldn‘t stand it and stopped listening with me after 2 hours. Honestly, it‘s hard for me to follow the story because it doesn‘t really hold my attention. I keep fading in and out. 6y

GypsyKat I want to read this based on the title alone! 😂 7y
WatchMeMerp @GypsyKat It may have been what I was drawn to at first! However, as I am listening to it, I don't regret judging it by its title. It really is hilarious and ridiculous! 😂 7y
