Bailed out at only 6% I don‘t want to sit around and read a book of millennial cliches.

Keah is an identical twin born quite prematurely and with CP; her sister does not have CP. Here she explores the reality of growing up then living independently as someone in a black, disabled body. I thought this was really good. Other reviewers have mentioned this is repetitive, which is true, but I think it serves a purpose. When one has always been treated in a particular way, repetition emphasizes this reality.

Eh…. I read this book for a book club that focuses on books by underrepresented authors/subjects and while she does make a point to discuss her intersecting identities of being a black and disabled woman who has had mental health challenges…. Some of the essays were a bit meandering and felt a bit immature. I‘d be curious to see her write a similar book in 20 years, with more life & writing experience.

I pull out my phone, texting Eden. Having a Pretty Woman moment.
Be more specific, she answers. Were you shunned from stores or are you in a bubble bath?

My #TBRtarot pick this month was a story about two orphan girls that get separated and one lives as an assassin and the other in a brothel. It‘s a beautiful love story between them, lots of trying to figure out identities and powers and trying to help the fae in this realm. Will have to get the next one to see what happens as the story was left unresolved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I‘ve been nervous for this one! I picked it up once in a store and was so enamored with the few random ones ages I read and the blurb.
I saw some reviews and chose to wait on it, but I have high hopes! #liveforhauntingintamacy #thenightanditsmoon

Very fast, spicy read, & I cannot figure out why, because I like how it‘s written, I laughed out loud multiple times, but I just didn‘t care about either of these characters. It seemed like their inside thoughts in their POV chapters didn‘t match their actions - especially the male MC.He‘s so grumpy/rude all the time, but there was no crossover of like - here‘s who I really am. I do want to read her again, tho, so she must be doing something right!
