Bookwomble I'd love to be able to answer this, but it's been so long since I lived in easy commuting distance of London that I'll be hopelessly out of date! As to districts, Charing Cross Road is an obvious bookish place, as is the Bloomsbury area around the British Museum. The Atlantis Bookshop used to be a favourite of mine in the museum area.
