Bailedbailed

The #SummeroftheBail continues on. I made it to page 66 and I‘m out. I can‘t stand the narrative voice here. Charlotte is not amusing. She‘s annoying. I picked this up because the cover claims her father was the inspiration for George Smiley, but whether we see that link or not remains to be seen, and will have to be seen by someone other than me. So glad I borrowed this and didn‘t waste my own money.

Pamwurtzler Good to know. I thought that one looked good but maybe not. 6y
DGRachel @Pamwurtzler I say check it out from your library. I have bad luck with memoirs, as a general rule. I think I‘ve enjoyed one out of about six that I‘ve read/tried to read in the last couple of years. 6y
Ashley85 Ha I‘m totally having a #summerofthebail too! What‘s up with that?! Its been hard for me to find a really good book lately. 😫 (edited) 6y

rubyslippersreads Oh no! I was looking forward to this. (And can get it from the library.) 6y
Pamwurtzler So far my library hadn‘t had a kindle version. If I happen to see it out there, I‘ll check it out. 6y
DGRachel @LauraBeth Seriously! If this keeps up, I‘m going to have to change my name to @shawnmooney 😂😂 6y

The #SummeroftheBail continues. I‘ve officially walked away from four books, two of which have been hanging over my head for months. I‘m not loving my current reads, either, so there‘s a good chance I‘ll start September with two or three more bails, but I‘m not quite ready to give up on them. I had a lot of lackluster reads, as well, that I powered through, but the four pictured above were all 5-star reads and I loved them.
